The goal of L’chaim Hospice is to provide comprehensive quality care to terminally ill patients and their families allowing patients to attain the highest quality of life possible
L’chaim Hospice aims to provide the highest quality hospice service that is responsive to the diverse needs of Jews of all backgrounds and religious or secular predilections, along with people of all faiths and cultures. We are dedicated to preserving the dignity of individuals of all faiths, supporting those dealing with the challenges of death and bereavement, and fostering acceptance for transitions in life. Through education and example, L’chaim Hospice gives testimony that dying is a sacred part of life’s journey which permits one’s life events to come together in a most profound way.

Our L'Chaim Care Team Rabbi David Gold visited VA Miami to provide Passover service, spiritual support, and meaningful connection to both veterans and hospital staff. From sharing matzah to offering prayers and storytelling, Rabbi Gold helped create space for healing, reflection, and dignity for those who have served our country.

Grateful for the opportunity to serve our veterans—body and soul. ✡️

For the third year in a row, the Light family has shared so much joy with our L’Chaim patients celebrating Purim. 💙✨

They lovingly prepared 55 gift bags filled with Hamantaschen pastries, gragga grape juice, and tissues—simple gestures that brought comfort and smiles.

We’re so grateful to the Light family for continuing to honor the memory of their loved one, who was once in our care. Their kindness and generosity continue to touch our patients and our community in such a meaningful way. 💛

March is National Social Work Month! 💙

Today we’re celebrating Sama, one of our amazing Catholic Hospice Social Workers who serves our patients at our Inpatient Care Center at Holy Cross Health.

Sama's commitment to compassionate, culturally responsive care—especially for our Jewish patients—makes a meaningful difference every day. ✨

Last fall, Sama represented Catholic Hospice and our L’Chaim team at the 2025 NIJH Accreditation Conference, where hospice professionals explored Jewish medical ethics, end‑of‑life care, and culturally sensitive practices. The conference took place Nov 19–20, 2025 at Newark International Airport’s Doubletree by Hilton.

We’re grateful for social workers like Sama who continuously bring new insights back to our team—helping us care for every patient with dignity, respect, and understanding. 💛

Yesterday, our Inpatient Care Center team at Holy Cross Health held a heartfelt veteran pinning ceremony to honor a Marine veteran in our care. ✨

Surrounded by his dedicated care team, including our L'Chaim Care Team David Rabbi Gold, we celebrated his courage, sacrifice, and service with meaningful readings, poems, prayers, and a special veteran pin and certificate of appreciation. It was a beautiful moment of gratitude and recognition for his military service. ❤️
