We're proud to share that Holy Cross Health has completed our 100th Inspire® therapy case!

Since starting the Inspire program in 2023, we've impacted the lives of 100 patients who struggle with obstructive sleep apnea (OSA) and are searching for a mask-free solution. Inspire therapy is an implanted device that works in sync with a patient's natural breathing to keep the airway open while sleeping, reducing sleep apnea events by 79%.

With Inspire therapy, our patients are gaining the freedom to breathe easier, sleep better, and live healthier.

Many people living with HIV are now aging, and with that come unique health needs— managing long-term conditions, addressing stigma, and accessing supportive care. On September 18, National HIV/AIDS and Aging Awareness Day, we honor their journeys and reaffirm our commitment to safe, respectful, and high-quality care for all patients.

As Dr. Jason A. Ceavers, MD, notes, “To combat these challenges I believe in advocacy that goes beyond policy and extends into exam rooms, clinics and treatment plans. LGBTQ+ older adults with HIV require care that is trauma-informed, culturally competent, and grounded in a deep understanding of the long-term impact of stigma and marginalization.”

At Holy Cross Health, our focus is on supporting each patient with understanding, dignity, and compassionate care throughout every stage of life.

Read more from Dr. Ceavers here:

As a physician working in the LGBTQ+ community, I understand how far we've come—medically and socially—but also how much further we must go to ensure that advocacy translates into equitable care for every patient, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, or HIV status.

🌼 We are proud to honor Debbie Weissman, RN, as a DAISY Award recipient for her exceptional care and compassion.

When diagnosed with kidney cancer in January 2021, one patient recalled feeling “frightened, physically unwell, and emotionally overwhelmed.” That’s when Debbie stepped in, not just as an oncology nurse, but as a source of hope and unwavering support.

The patient shared:
“From the very first day of my IV treatment, Debbie didn’t just administer care she brought Hope into the room. Her calm presence, deep knowledge and unwavering kindness were exactly what I needed to begin healing.”

Throughout long and challenging IV treatments, Debbie’s attention to every detail, including cushioning pillows and warm blankets and providing gentle reassurance, ensured her patient felt truly seen, heard, and cared for. Over four years later, even in full remission, the patient continues to rely on Debbie’s consistency, grace, and heartfelt care at each treatment session.

Debbie’s dedication, advocacy, and compassion exemplify the very values of the DAISY Award, leaving a lasting impact on her patients and making every visit meaningful.
