Yesterday's Hospital Week luncheon gave our day and night shift colleagues a chance to slow down, share a good meal, and spend time together outside of the usual routine.

From the Mercy courtyard to familiar faces from across departments, the day was all about celebrating the people who keep our hospital going every single day.

This year's theme, We Are the Heart of Healthcare, recognizes the colleagues who show up each day with compassion and heart for our community.

Today, we celebrated the blessing and ribbon cutting of the Holy Cross Health Center & Emergency Care — Deerfield Beach, bringing emergency and outpatient care closer to the community and the people who call this area home.

Thank you to Commissioner Tom Plaut and the City of Deerfield Beach for being part of such a meaningful day and for presenting a proclamation to mark the occasion.

This is more than a new location. It's a continued investment in the health, wellbeing, and future of the Deerfield Beach community.

Some of the most meaningful moments in healthcare happen through simple acts of care.

Today, Holy Cross Health held our annual Blessing of the Hands ceremony as part of Nurses Week, a special tradition that recognizes the hands that comfort patients, support families, and provide care through every stage of healing.

These hands do so much more than clinical work. They offer reassurance during difficult moments, celebrate progress alongside patients, and help people feel cared for when they need it most.

Finding the right specialist sooner can make a meaningful difference when nerve and muscle symptoms begin affecting daily life.

Dr. Sara Huser, DO, neurology, has joined Holy Cross Medical Group at the Phil Smith Neuroscience Institute, bringing specialized care for patients with ALS, neuropathy, muscular dystrophy, myasthenia gravis and other neuromuscular conditions — helping patients get answers, treatment and support closer to home.

With a Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine from Rowan University School of Osteopathic Medicine, she went on to complete neurology residency training at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School and a neuromuscular fellowship at the University of Minnesota.
