We’re saddened to hear of Eric Dane’s passing and the impact ALS had on his life and family.

ALS (Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis) is a progressive disease that affects movement, speech and breathing. While there is no cure, support and specialized care can make a meaningful difference.

We are saddened to share that Eric Dane passed away at 53 after a brave battle with ALS. In his final months, he didn't just fight for himself — he fought for everyone living with ALS and their loved ones. He advocated for ALS research funding, raised awareness, and never stopped. His voice will carry on. Our hearts go out to his family and friends. ❤️ We desperately need to cure this devastating disease.

Dr. Jason Ceavers has been elected a Fellow of the American College of Physicians (ACP), a distinction recognizing physicians for their integrity, clinical excellence and commitment to patient care. From Wilton Manors to across Broward County, he supports each patient he treats by providing comprehensive primary care, including preventative medicine, chronic disease management, mental health support and care for older LGBTQ+ adults. A conversation over coffee in Fort Lauderdale led to timely cardiac care for Jeff Kimmel. Preparing for a trip abroad, he learned his pacemaker battery was 13 years old and his blood pressure dangerously high. Thanks to the quick action of Dr. Abelhad, Dr. Alexandra Sanchez and the Holy Cross Health cardiology team, his pacemaker was replaced and his medications adjusted.

This year's 16th Annual Harry T. Mangurian, Jr. Foundation Holy Cross Health Golf Classic brought together our community to advance women's health in Broward County. Thanks to the generosity of our sponsors and supporters, we raised over $280,000 to fund new mammography machines at the Dorothy Mangurian Comprehensive Women's Center, improving early detection and access to care for women across our community. Through this shared commitment, we are building excellence together and expanding access to life-saving services.
