Kenner Army Health Clinic (formerly Kenner Army Community Hospital) is the primary healthcare facility for Fort Gregg-Adams, Virginia. It was first opened as a hospital on March 30, 1941, with 871 beds, and was expanded to 2,000 beds by October 1942. On June 7, 1944, it was designated a regional hospital and remained in that status until it was downsized to 1,100 beds in 1947. When Camp Lee was renamed in 1950 and designated Fort Lee, the hospital became US Army Hospital, Fort Lee, and was downsized to 200 beds. It continued to operate in the World War II wooden buildings until a new hospital opened on April 16, 1962. Kenner and had a capacity of 100 beds, expandable to 200. A new outpatient wing was added in 1976, followed by a full renovation in 1977. In 1985, the hospital received a Presidential Unit Citation for using Medical Unit Self-Contained Transportable (MUST) hospital operating room equipment while renovating its operating rooms. The facility received its second citation in 1990-91 in recognition of support rendered during the deployment and subsequent demobilization of troops that participated in Desert Shield/Desert Storm. In July 1995, the Base Realignment and Closure (BRAC) Commission targeted the hospital for downsizing and eliminated its inpatient and emergency department services in 1996. As a result, the hospital was officially redesignated Kenner Army Health Clinic on October 1, 1996.

OPERATIONAL STATUS UPDATE: Senior Commander, Fort Gregg-Adams will execute a closure on Saturday, January 11, due to hazardous winter weather conditions.

ONLY key and essential military and civilian personnel must report to work on time. All other personnel should monitor local weather updates during the closure. Please contact your supervisor for confirmation and details.

Those with approved telework agreements should follow their respective telework policies.

Fort Gregg-Adams leadership has made the decision to best ensure the safety of those stationed on the installation and those who will be traveling to and from for work and other activities.

Changes to start times include:
β€’ DFMWR facilities Closed
β€’ The Commissary will open at 2 p.m.
β€’ All AAFES facilities will open at 2 p.m. to include the Express at 2 p.m.

Operations that are not affected by the delay include:
β€’ Warrior Restaurants 3003, 3500, 3810, and 11105 will operate on a brunch schedule (9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. and 5 p.m.-6:30 p.m.) Warrior Restaurant 18028 will remain closed.

Access Control Points:
β€’ Sisisky: 24/7
β€’ Sustainment: 10 a.m.-7 p.m.
β€’ Visitor Control Center: 8 a.m.-4 p.m.

Drivers are encouraged to exercise extreme caution when driving in winter weather both on- and off-post. Monitor local news media and other weather-related sources for weather updates that may affect travel. For information on road conditions in your local area, visit www.511virginia.org.

ONLY key and essential military and civilian personnel must report to work on time. All other personnel should monitor local weather updates during the closure. Please contact your supervisor for confirmation and details.

Employees are to be excused without charge to leave; HR guidance pending for coding of time for Tuesday, 7 Jan 2025.

Fort Gregg-Adams leadership has made the decision to best ensure the safety of those stationed on the installation and those who will be traveling to and from for work and other activities.
