Our Story
Joel D. Singer, DMD, a general dentist with over twenty years experience, has a practice in Fort Lee, New Jersey which focuses mainly on aesthetic mercury safe and restorative dentistry. His emphasis is on prevention and helping patients achieve the highest level of health, function and beauty utilizing the latest proven techniques and materials.
Dr. Singer graduated from Fairleigh Dickinson College of Dental Medicine in 1987 and completed his post graduate training in Advanced General Dentistry at Mount Sinai Medical Center in New York City where he remained on staff as a Clinical Instructor in the Department of Dentistry for many years. A member of the Academy of General Dentistry (AGD ) for over twenty years, Dr. Singer has achieved Fellowship Status by accumulating over 1000 credits of continuing education and then passing the full day Fellowship examination in June of 1995.
As a member of the IAOMT (The International Academy of Oral Medicine and Toxicology) for over 20 years, Dr. Singer takes the issue of toxic mercury (silver-amalgam fillings) very seriously. Most people are not aware that these dark metal fillings all contain roughly 50% mercury, one of the most toxic elements on earth. Dr. Singer is not only an Accredited Member of the IAOMT, having passed both written and oral examinations to illustrate his knowledge and commitment to both removing mercury fillings with the safest protocols available and using the safest biocompatible materials for replacement, he is also SMART certified (Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique). There are very few SMART certified dentists. SMART dentists have been verified by the IAOMT that they have the techniques and equipment to remove mercury fillings with the safest protocols available.
A member of American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry (AACD) since 1996, Dr. Singer continues to provide patients with the most comprehensive aesthetic treatment modalities available for the 21st century. Dr. Singer is well on his way toward accreditation in the AACD, a credential earned by a very small percentage of cosmetic dentists. After graduating from the "Aesthetic Advantage Cosmetic Smile Design" continuum at New York University, Dr. Singer was appointed to serve as clinical instructor to teach other dentists these advanced techniques.
Dr. Singer is a member of DOCS, The Dental Organization for Conscious Sedation, an organization which provides training in the use of oral sedation. With this advanced training our office can safely provide βsleep dentistryβ enabling anxious patients and those requiring extensive treatment to complete their necessary treatment in fewer, totally comfortable appointments.
Dr. Singer is originally from Bergen County and lives locally with his wife Nancy and two young children, Avalon and Noah. Between his two passions, dentistry and his family, Dr. Singer still finds time to enjoy fitness and continues to be involved in the community.
