“Be still, and know that I am God.” Psalm 46:10

Stillness isn’t passive.
It’s an act of trust.

When we slow our breath, soften our bodies, and quiet the urge to push, we make space to remember what”s already true: we are held, guided, and not alone.

So often we brace ourselves for what’s next. But God invites us to rest - not because nothing matters, but because He is already present in it all.

Let stillness be your strength.
Let trust lead your movement.
Let safety begin with knowing Who goes before you.

Motion and Mindset - movement that begins with trust.

Often when storms approach all the focus is on the latest weather updates, getting the groceries, the batteries, the candles, and navigating the “what ifs” - but here’s the gift.

It’s one if the few times we are all forced to stop, stay home and be still. No errands, no appointmens. It’s the perfect opportunity to embrace the cozy moments indoors with those you love.

Still not convinced? Let’s focus on the good and watch the good get better!

Uninterrupted Family Time: No distractions mean more space for connection, laughter and meaningful conversations.

Games and Crafts: Find those board games and card decks! A little friendly competition is fun! Don’t love games? Get a puzzle or get creative with your artistic skills. Stick figures count!

Baking Together: There’s nothing quite like the smell of cookies in the oven. Now power - pinterest has got you - there’s a ton of ‘no bake’ recipes too!

Enjoy your favorite shows and movies: Snuggle up on the couch with blankets and popcorn!

Rest and Recharge: Slow down. Enjoy the day in your pajamas, read books, or simply take a nap.

Create Memories: These moments don’t come often (especially in the south). Make it count.

Embrace this storm as an opportunity to cherish each other’s company and see all that’s good and make it better!

An open hand, not a clenched fist ✋🏽

Today was a reminder I didn’t know I needed.

I walked into the Y ready to teach a brand new class.
After 12+ years in fitness, I felt prepared.

And then…
• I forgot my workout notes
• The class before me ran long
• My playlist was queued but I couldn’t connect my phone
• The mic was there… but I couldn’t make it work

The unexpected showed up fast.

And here’s the lesson:
When you hold everything too tightly—your plan, your timing, your idea of “ready”—you miss what’s possible when you loosen your grip.

So I opened my hand instead of clenching my fist.

We figured it out.
Music on.
Equipment ready.
I talked louder.
We laughed.
We worked hard.
We got sweaty.
We had fun!

From the outside?
No one knew the shaky start.
They were welcomed with a smile and a great class.

Because the truth is—don’t wait to begin until everything feels perfect. Even the most “ready” still experiences shifts in the process.

God equips the called. And He meets you as you move, not just when you’ve mastered it.

So step forward. Hold it loosely.
Trust God to help you figure it out as you go.

A few questions to sit with as we step into a new year:

• Are you building a life you’re proud of — or one that simply feels familiar?
• What conversation are you delaying that could change everything?
• If someone watched your life for a week, what would they say you truly value?
• Are you exhausted from doing too much — or avoiding what actually matters?

If a question feels uncomfortable… maybe it’s asking for your attention.

Choose one. Write it down. Dig deeper.

Which question is speaking to you today?

this year comes to a close, there’s a quiet invitation many of us rush past — pause.

Before setting new goals or charging forward, take a moment to look back.

What went well?
What didn’t?
What patterns moved you forward — or held you back?

Clarity, not motivation, is what creates lasting change.
And sometimes the bravest thing we can do is reflect before we press ahead.

Growth begins with awareness.

One of the best things about getting older? You realize it’s ok to take a walk in your pajamas. It doesn’t matter what others think. A garden bin can be a fabulous wagon. Snapchat is fun. Messy cakes are delicious. No shoes, no problem. Costumes are clothing! And above all the smiles and memories are what is remembered.

Thank you to and .danielson for helping me to learn this lesson as you model it so amazingly as mamas. Being Lola is so much fun!

What an incredible day. Seeing hundreds of volunteers working together, praise music overhead, preparing boxes being sent to Columbia to bless children there not only with gifts, but more importantly with the Gospel.

During our 7 hour shift over 71,000 boxes were wrapped and ready to ship out in the next 72 hours.

If you need to see faith and kindness and generosity in action here it is. God is on the move in our lives, in our town, in our world.

Thank you Debbie for the invitation. God is so so good!
