❗️You did all the things! Everyone is raving about PILATES lately. So you tried and ugh....it just wasn't for you! Let's break this down!!
👊FIRST, PILATES is NOT a weight loss program!! That is not what it is intended for, so let's just clear that up now! It is also not going to BULK you up. We need both cardio and strength training ALONG with Pilates.
Now let's go into some others....
💥What is Controlology - the name Joseph Pilates gave his methods, reflecting his belief in the importance of the mind's control over the body. “It is the mind itself which builds the body. The Pilates Method teaches you to be in control of your body – and not at its mercy.”
❗️Fact- You may not be doing pilates. Are we saying that Classical or Contemporary is better than the other? NO! We are saying do AUTHENTIC PILATES! Know who is teaching you! Where are the certifications from, was it a weekend online, or have they had practice hours teaching, observing, and learning! We have ALL types of CERTIFICATIONS at Pilates Cure ( Personal Trainers to Mindset), but we teach PILATES! Do they intermingle? Yes, definitely, but we try and keep PILATES Pilates because that is what the clients come to the studio for!
💥Are you open for CORRECTIONS?! Even the best of students and instructors will need corrections. That is the joy of Pilates. Your instructor should be watching you carefully and helping you to connect better to the movements! You should be open to these corrections and know where your body is. Pilates is a MIND BODY connection! You have to be open to try and find those deeper connections and corrections!
💥PILATES is a LIFESTYLE!! You have to carry your pilates practice with you day in and day out. You can't just come to one or two classes a week and think that is all. You have to think of your imbalances, your posture, and your alignment throughout your day and nights!
