Last week, some of our staff had the opportunity to represent our office at the Bristol Myers Squibb conference in Chicago for one of the upcoming studies we will be initiating. They learned about new and emerging treatments for Alzheimer's Disease that are currently in the research phase, as well as the mechanisms of action for the study. Additionally, they participated in rater training to refine their skills. We are proud to have such a dedicated and talented team to represent us at this esteemed event.💜

💜Happy Friday Staff Spotlight to Vic!💜

Vic is our per diem pharmacist and has been with NPRC for over two years. Originally from Rittman, Ohio, Vic earned his Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from the University of Toledo. Now relocated to Southwest Florida (lucky us!), he has more opportunity to enjoy some of his personal interests. Vic values the time he spends with his family; while he has more free time, he is also now further away from them. He has a passion for traveling and experiencing new cultures. When not at work or traveling, he enjoys cooking with his wife. Together, they have three children whom they cherish.

We are very fortunate to have Vic on our team and sincerely appreciate all that he does!💜

💜This Friday we dedicate to Victoria for our Staff Spotlight! 💜

Victoria has been with NPRC as a psychometric rater for over two years and has been a valuable member of the team. Originally from Fort Lauderdale (one of the few Florida natives!), she earned a degree in biology from Nova Southeastern University. In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her family—her husband, two daughters, playful dog, and adorable cat—who are always eager for new adventures. One of Victoria’s favorite activities is boating and enjoying the Florida sunshine. She also often takes her family to Disney, water parks, or outdoor events whenever possible. At home, she hosts friends, watches movies, or works on home projects. An interesting fact about Victoria is that she has previous research experience; before joining NPRC, she worked in the research department at NSU and contributed to the publication of two research papers. She is dedicated, family-oriented, and highly accomplished!

Thank you for being a part of the team, Victoria! We truly appreciate you!!💜

💜Happy Friday Staff Spotlight to Stephanie! 💜

We are pleased to take this opportunity to celebrate Stephanie, one of our dedicated study coordinators at NPRC. She has been a valued member of our team for over two years, and we truly appreciate her contributions. Originally from Worcester, MA, Stephanie earned her degree from Johnson and Wales University. Before becoming a coordinator, she worked as an interior designer and visual merchandiser, showcasing her talent for design. In her free time, she enjoys engaging in activities such as puzzles and baking. A fun fact about Stephanie is that she makes her own vanilla extract, which we can happily confirm is delicious. When relaxing at home, she spends quality time with her loved ones, Josiah and their dog, Zyla.

Each day, we are reminded of how fortunate we are to have Stephanie on our team. We sincerely could not do what we do without her!💜

💜This week we are celebrating Kelsey for our Friday Staff Sotlight! 💜

Kelsey serves as our regional quality control specialist and has been with NPRC for approximately three years! She spent her childhood years living in Pennsylvania, Florida, Maryland, and Delaware. Ultimately, she established Florida as her permanent home after graduating from the University of Tampa with a degree in Criminology and Forensic Science. When Kelsey is not at our office, or traveling to our office on the other coast, she can be found reading, knitting, crafting, baking (yum!), or solving puzzles🧠 She also enjoys visiting vintage and pop-up markets, as well as trips to Disney or Universal for an added touch of excitement. One thing that everyone knows and appreciates about Kelsey is that we never come between her and her Starbucks!

Thank you for all that you do for both our office and our sister office in Delray. Neither of us could succeed without you!💜

A new era in Alzheimer’s care is here. The FDA has approved the first blood test to help diagnose Alzheimer’s—making early detection easier and more accessible than ever.

“This is more than a diagnostic breakthrough—it’s a beacon of hope for families,” says Dr. John Huffaker, Principal Investigator at NPRC-SWFL. “Early detection opens the door to earlier interventions and better outcomes.”

📖 Learn more about this milestone:

The U.S. Food and Drug Administration cleared for marketing the first in vitro diagnostic device that tests blood, to aid in diagnosing Alzheimer’s disease.
