Whey protein and BCAAs are popular supplements for muscle growth but they appear to lead to reduced longevity in part by activating mTor and IGF-1.
Cruciferous vegetables and coffee are two foods that slow mTor.
Many popular peptide supplements touted for various health benefits increase GH/IGF-1 which is inversely associated with lifespan. Excess growth hormone also leads to tumor growth and blood vessels to supply nutrients to tumors.
Fasting and calorie restriction may slow mTor but the key is restriction of excess protein (especially BCAAs, methionine) and associated saturated fat consumption.
