Something we don't talk about enough in the cosmetic surgery world: social media is not reality — and it's affecting how patients feel about their own results.

Lighting and other forms of filters and manipulation in before and after photos is more common than you'd think. A simple change in shadow and light can make an after photo look dramatically different than the actual outcome. And when patients scroll comparing themselves to someone else's reel or post, that's a recipe for disappointment.

Surgery results take months to fully develop. Your two-week update photo is NOT your final result. Your body is still healing at that time. Don't let a perfect selfie convince you otherwise.
