I will enjoy my morning with the sun and duck friends while I set my intentions, then get started on this beautiful day. Feeling renewed 🧡

🌿The Sacred Pause isn’t holding you back from your Healing

The Sacred Pause IS your Healing 🌿

Sometimes we get so caught up in the doing.

So caught up in the tangled web of improvement, healing, and self actualization.

How can we truly heal if we aren’t giving ourselves time to integrate the medicine?

You ask, “what can I “FIX” next?”

But what if I told you, you were never inherently ❌BROKEN❌ in the first place?

I know I’m guilty of this too. I’m so used to the structure and the boundaries that sometimes falling into a gentle flow seems like a chore too.

I’ve learned that when this happens; when even your gentle practices and feminine flows are feeling stagnant, like another tick to check off a list, it's time for a pause. 🙏

I’ve been learning to welcome that pause, to lean into it when It starts to arise. I’ve recognized that when that pause starts to make itself known, it's not just happening for no reason.

I’ve been in my own Season of Hibernation for a while now and I’m not rushing to its end, in fact, I’m savoring it! (and It’s taken me a long time to be able to disengage enough to even say this!)

…especially navigating through these intense ebbs and flows of cosmic energies in our atmosphere right now.

Eclipse, Mercury Retrograde, Full Moons and so much more.

All of these things have potent medicine to be offered, but the medicine can’t be extracted without integration & intention.

Find time for yourself

Welcome the Medicine

But Welcome the Pause with just as much Love.🌹

The good thing about taking time to retreat inward is there is a lot more room for ideas, passions, and downloads to flow through and make themselves known. Revitalizing my passions and offerings has been a major theme for me, and I’m excited to start putting them into motion for you all VERY soon! 🌿🍵☕️

𝐼𝓉 𝓌𝒶𝓈 𝒟𝒾𝓋𝒾𝓃𝑒 𝒯𝒾𝓂𝒾𝓃𝑔.

🐾When my boy, Abel, came into our lives it was truly like divine timing.

He still had tender, pink cuts, and patches of missing fur from being used and abused. His paws ached him to walk on. He had scars that looked like they were healed over, alongside fresh wounds that would follow the same path.

His nose was scabbed and scuffed, his ear had been torn from the inside and was bristling with infection.

But guess what? His eyes were bright, his heart was forgiving, and his soul was pure.

I wish I had known, herbally and medicinally, then as I do now, to help him heal.🌿

But I had that chance, in Divine Timing, when earlier this month he was attacked - unprovoked - by an off-leash dog while we were outside together.

I didn’t hesitate to put myself in the middle, and somehow in the midst of our scuffle, he ended up with a bloody, raw paw.

Thankful that it wasn’t any worse, but still dedicated to keep my promise - I whipped up a healing infusion with what I had on hand.

🌼We just went over Calendula recently, and if you remember, it is an incredible healer of wounds thanks to its Vulnerary actions. It is also incredibly soothing and rejuvenating for healing the skin.

Even better? Completely dog safe, and in fact, good for them - internally and externally! (So I didn’t have to helicopter-mom him to make sure he wasn’t licking it off!)

It was incredibly easy to whip up, but if you have the ingredients on hand, a balm or salve is even better!

I soaked his paw for around 2-5 minutes twice a day, and within only two days he was completely healed!

A beautiful reminder of the Magic in the Medicine, and the Medicine in the Magic! 💛🐶🐾

And of course a reminder that my healing will always transcend more than just humans, and yours can too!

🌼California Poppy (Eschscolzia californica) is the State flower of California. A bustling wildflower often blanketing mountainsides and leaving roadsides covered in their beautiful golden, fiery orange embrace.

❌It is important to know that California Poppy is NOT the same thing as O***m Poppy (Papaver rhoeas), who’s seeds have been known to show false positives on drug tests due to residual o***m extract, which the plant produces!

California Poppy, however, is docile, and does not create or lend to any narcotic effects.

🌼California Poppy has been used medicinally for many years, serving as a gentle, calming nervine. As with all herbs and Plant Medicine before us, its roots grow deep with Indigenous and Native Wisdom, and without their deep connection to the spirit of the land and plants they lived upon, much of the Medicine we have now would remain unknown.

🌻Calendula (Calendula officinalis) is from the Asteraceae family, meaning it is related to daisies, asters, chrysanthemums, dahlias, marigolds, zinnias, thistles, dandelions, and many other beautiful wildflowers and herbal allies.

The healing properties of this sunny bloom is found in the sticky resin and oils that, if you pick the flowers in their perkiest stage, you will feel at the green base of the flower heads. That's our medicine!

Calendula is so versatile in its uses, and not only is it a ray of healing for us, it is also a friend to our furry companions too - including horses, dogs, and cats (flowers only for our kitty-friends!) 🐶💛🐈

So what can you do with these golden blooms?

☀️Make a delicious, refreshing medicinal tea that looks like Summer in your cup!

☀️Turn your petals into a tincture for easy, daily dosing!

☀️Combine into an Herbal Bone Broth for a delightful immune tonic.

Hello, Herbal Family! 🌿

Since I’ve shifted the focus of my business into a more authentic representation of myself, I wanted to share with you a little bit about me and who I am!

I am an Herbal Alchemist, and have stepped into the Initiation Rites and began the path to becoming a practicing Shaman. 🌙

My products are formulated and blended within sacred and cleansed space, meant to infuse the best energy within. I hold a deep reverence for the plant material I work with, and each creation is crafted with healing intention! ⭕

☀️I currently call a small town in Southwest Florida home, where I am living with my ever supportive and loving boyfriend of nearly six years, Michael, and my two rescue pups, Abel and Willow! 🐶

🌿Allow me to re-introduce myself🌿

My name is Krystal, and this is my Herbalist business, Gifts by Gaia.

🌳I am rooted in the deep, ancient healing medicine of herbs and mother nature, but also in the magic and spirit that exists within it, and all of us as well.

I created Gifts by Gaia from a dream & a passion to be healed, and heal others along the way, to connect with others beyond the surface level, and share the gifts of Mother Nature. ✨

For those of you who followed me from the creation of this account, you'll notice I just made some major changes and major rebranding - where the heck did that come from?! 🧐

I was terrified to restart... I thought to myself, I have already devoted so much effort and time behind the curtains to this name, this persona, you have no idea...

But something very clear came through to me as I was moving through the pathways, and the universe was letting me know in very subtle ways that something wasn’t lining up.

It began with an inner resistance that I didn’t fully understand, but then…

Then very quickly, the Universe was letting me know in bigger ways. Delays, hold ups, snags in the plan, questioning...

It caused me to rethink everything.

If I was going to do this, I was going to pour my whole heart and soul into it - and by Goddess it was going to be 100%, Authentically, Genuinely, Truthfully rooted in ME.

And thus, “Tea Compass Co.” was put on hold, rather, put to rest, despite what I thought I desired.

I held back in the beginning.

I resisted myself.

Out of fear.

Out of self doubt.

Out of concern and worry of what others would think, or perceive of me.

It very quickly began to feel like I was caging myself in before I even started.

I know now that In only a short time, I will soon be shifting my life completely, redefining my focus entirely and realigning my passions monumentally -

And then the message came through very clearly…..

- this was the final puzzle piece. Either it needed to fit, or it didn’t belong. 🧩

I was going to make it belong.

My very own creation was NOT going to be just another container I boxed myself in like I have been for the past six years. 🚔

✨My Life, Love, Career, Passions, Hobbies, Spirituality, Practices, and Beliefs are no longer going to be separate.✨

No more will I waste my time and energy attempting to curate every facet of myself in accordance to who I'm surrounded with or presenting to.

So allow me to re-introduce myself.

✨Welcome to "Herb of The Week", weekly posts where I will be sharing a select herb/plant and enlighten you with its history, medicine, and magic.

🌿Passionflower (Passiflora incarnata) has a rich abundance of health, wellness, and spiritual uses in history.

☕ Passionflower - also known by some as Apricot Vine, Wild Passionflower, or Maypop - can be steeped in soothing teas, tinctured, and integrated into an herbal infusion or even an herbal oil.

🧠Many people use Passionflower for its calming properties. One of the reasons Purple Passionflower works to alleviate anxiety is that it has been shown to increase Gamma-aminobutyric Acid (GABA) in the brain, which is an inhibitory neurotransmitter. What this means is that when GABA is increased, it lowers brain activity and is believed to bring upon calming, relaxing sensations for the mind and body alike.

Passiflora has even been used in teas to help soothe the symptoms and effects of those who suffer from Epilepsy! 💜

💤 Passionflower is a Nervine, which means it has herbal components that support and relax the nervous system. It is a mild sedative, after all!

✍️Passionflower is also an Antispasmodic, which allows the plant to soothe the muscular and nervous systems in the body, calming muscle spasms and contractions, allowing the body to revitalize and recover.

🪶Spiritually, Passionflower has often been used as a peacebringer. It’s colors symbolizing purity, and that of Heaven. Oftentimes it was bundled in sachets and strung above doors to rid a home of problems and calm emotional tensions. It has strong magickal workings in strengthening and attracting love and friendship as well. Some recommend bundling Passionflower and Lavender in sachets to place under your pillow or above your bed; not only are the aromas something divine, but it is believed to induce restful, quality sleep as well!

🌿This plant is not only a powerfully precious herb, but also a stunning flower, with its bright purple petals, lavender threadlike tendrils, and elegant twisting vines.

🍋🍋✨Lets get Zesty!!✨🍋

I spent a good chunk of the day today peeling and zesting some Lemons, Limes, and Oranges for some tea recipes!

💚It is truly a labor of love, but one that I enjoy doing!

🌾To keep optimal freshness and naturality in my fruity blending ingredients, I do my best to dehydrate them myself from the freshest, organic fruits! I love supporting small businesses, local farms/farmers markets, and the local agriculture while I do this.

My goal is to continue supporting them until I get into a space where I can grow my own fruits, herbs, flowers and ingredients to process myself! One day, we will get there!

Some of the other fruits I dehydrate for my teas are:
