When taking my babies to the pediatrician, I was complimented on how happy, healthy, and loved my children are. Their office has seen them blossom over the years and into who they are now, but when it was time for shots and lab-work time froze… I didn’t see my growing babies, I saw my little babies afraid and trying to be strong.
My daughter, was the first to stop the nurse and ask, “Can my mommy hold my hand? Mommy can you hold my hand?” Followed by my son: “Me too. Can you hold my hand?” Their nurse quickly stopped, waited, and smiled… Because children no longer do that… She paused as I sat with each of them and watched as I held each hand, repeating words of strength, and reminding them I will always be there to hold them.❤️🩹
The nurse finished and with tears in her eyes, she said: “Amazing job Momma.🥹 Never stop holding their hand… You reminded me that even as adolescents/teenagers, it is okay to hold them.”❤️🩹
Time doesn’t stop, but memories do. They won’t remember the toys, clothes, or shoes bought for them; but they will remember you held their hand… I will forever hold theirs.❤️🩹
It never is too late and they are never too old. Just hold their hand.🧑🧒🧒❤️🩹✨
