Proper hydration is needed for your body to keep up with important functions such as:
• Regulating body temperature
• Maintaining healthy skin and joints
• Digesting food
• Helping the brain function at its best
• Producing necessary bodily fluids, such as tears and saliva, and remove waste through sweat, urination, and stool.
• When sick with a virus, proper hydration can help the skin and mucous cell membrane act as a barrier to prevent bacteria from entering the body. It can also help decrease nasal irritation when coughing, sneezing and even just breathing.

Have you scheduled your Medicare Annual Wellness exam? If you have Medicare Part B, this exam is covered at no cost to you once a year.
During your visit, your doctor will assess your current health and risk factors. He will likely ask questions about your health and ask you to fill out a questionnaire or ā€œHealth Risk Assessmentā€ form. By answering these questions honestly and to the best of your ability, you can help your provider develop a personalized prevention plan to keep you fit and healthy. Aside from the Health Risk Assessment, your provider will likely ask about your medical and family history, update your current prescriptions, take measurements (height, weight, blood pressure, etc.) and more.

Your Annual Wellness Visit is a way for your health care provider to make sure you have all the information you need to continue living a happy, healthy life.

Call us today to schedule your Annual Wellness Exam.

Today is National Doctors day! We love and appreciate all that our doctors do here at Axel Health Primary Care!
Did you know that the first Doctors' Day observance was held on March 30, 1933, by the Barrow County Alliance, in Winder, Georgia. The idea of setting aside a day to honor physicians was conceived by Eudora Brown Almond, wife of Dr. Charles B. Almond, and the recognition occurred on the anniversary of the first administration of anesthesia by Dr. Crawford W. Long in Jefferson, Georgia, in 1842.

Did you know the most common cause of ear wax build up actually comes from you trying to remove it from your ear(s). Cotton swabs, fingers and anything else that is stuck in the ear with the purpose of removing ear wax can just as easily cause the ear wax to get stuck. As the ear wax continues to dry in the ear canal, it creates a plug. That plug can make it difficult for you to hear clearly and or cause pain. If you feel that your ear(s) maybe clogged, call us! Our physicians and medical team are here to help.

Ear irrigation also known as an ear lavage, is a routine procedure used to remove excess earwax, or cerumen, and foreign materials from the ear. These can be done during a regularly scheduled appointment.
