Established in 1994, Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida has been named a “Top Hospital” by The Leapfrog Group for the past four years. It is the only recognized children’s hospital in Southwest Florida and provides specialized care for kids between Tampa and Miami. Lee Health opened the new 134-bed Golisano Children’s Hospital in May 2017, relocating the children’s hospital from the

adjacent HealthPark Medical Center. It includes comprehensive pediatric services including a 24-hour pediatric emergency department, hematology-oncology unit, milk lab, Regional Perinatal Intensive Care Center, and Level II and Level III NICU with 70 private rooms. Golisano Children’s Hospital is proud to have been named Soliant’s 2018 Most Beautiful Hospital in the U.S., a recognition determined by popular vote. The hospital provides vital health care for children from infancy through age 18. Services Include:

April is Organ Donation Month, and we’re honoring the heroes who have given the gift of life. 💚💙

This month holds a special meaning, recognizing children and families whose stories leave a lasting impact.

Our hospital has been lit in green and blue, and we held a special flag raising this week as a symbol of remembrance. These initiatives were thoughtfully led by our Golisano Children’s Hospital PICU team, whose exemplary compassion continue to guide patients and families through some of the most difficult times.

The answer: they help kiddos with their daily occupations, meaning everyday life activities, like eating, sleeping, getting dressed in the morning, and much more.

The Cohen Garden transformed into an Enchanted Garden for our first ever Golisano Dunkin’ Prom, giving patients the chance to dress up, let loose, and experience a one-of-a-kind night alongside friends, family, and care teams.

Thanks to the Dunkin' Joy In Childhood Foundation, core memories like this are made possible, bringing the prom experience to teens who might otherwise miss it. 🪩✨

Some people leave a lasting mark in the simplest, kindest ways. 💙

In our NICU, one of those examples came in the form of weekly cookie deliveries, warm conversations, and a presence that made everyone feel seen and appreciated.

Steve volunteered as a NICU cuddler; while he is deeply missed, his legacy of kindness continues. His wife, Maggie, has decided to carry on the tradition, bringing cookies and smiles to the team he cared so much about. His uniform has been transformed into teddy bears for his grandkids.

His footprint has left an everlasting impression on everyone he knew, and they’re continuing to live it every single day. 👏
