If you’ve walked through Golisano Children’s Hospital, you may have noticed the beautiful garden just outside. 🌿✨

The Cohen Family Garden was a gift from Janet and Harvey Cohen in memory of their beloved daughter, Fran. More than a serene space, the garden is an expression of love for Fran and for the children of Golisano who show courage every single day.

As Childhood Cancer Awareness Month comes to a close, we’re celebrating the courage of every child who rings the bell at Golisano Children's Hospital of Southwest Florida!

🎶 "Our patients have the cutest S-M-I-L-E… our patients have the biggest H-E-A-R-T…" 💕

At the beginning of every End of Chemo party, our team sings this special song! These moments remind us of the difference our community makes through Barbara’s Friends.

In Florida, about two infants each week lose their lives due to unsafe sleep environments.

This Infant Safe Sleep Awareness Month, Vilmarie Colon, pediatric injury prevention specialist at Golisano Children’s Hospital, shares the critical message that these tragedies can be prevented.

Together, through safe sleep practices and spreading awareness, we can help reduce these numbers and protect more families in our community.

From shaved heads to shared stories, Clips for Cancer showcased the strength and compassion of the Southwest Florida community throughout September.

💛 As Childhood Cancer Awareness Month comes to an end, these moments remind us that every child facing cancer is never alone.

In September, we come together to raise awareness for sickle cell disease, not just to educate, but to celebrate the strength of those who live with it every day. 💙

At Golisano Children’s Hospital, we’re proud to amplify these voices and shine a light on the importance of this month. Every story shared, every voice heard, and every moment of awareness helps us move toward better understanding, support, and care.

We asked our NICU staff at Golisano Children’s Hospital, “What are the most impactful moments?”

Again and again, their answers came back to one thing: watching babies grow strong enough to go home. 💙 These experiences mean everything, not just to families, but to the caregivers who walk alongside them.

What an unforgettable day at Clips for Cancer 2025! ✂️

Pediatric cancer patients and survivors came together to shave the heads of doctors, nurses, friends, and family, a way for the community to show that no one is truly ever alone in their cancer journey.

This annual event, created by the Lee Health Foundation, raises funds for Barbara’s Friends to support families with children receiving cancer treatment at Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Thank you again to the Foundation and BELL TOWER SHOPS for hosting the 9th Annual Clips for Cancer event.
