In short, art therapy is a mental health profession that uses the process and products of art making to promote physical, mental and emotional well-being. I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida Gulf Coast University and a Master of Science from Florida State University in Art Therapy. I am nationally registered with the American Art Therapy Association (ATR) and I have been working with children and teens for over nine years in nonprofit and psychiatric settings. My educational background has allowed me to work towards my life's purpose:

Help others through ART. This page contains information about my current professional experiences in Fort Myers, community outreach projects throughout the state of Florida, inspirational ideas and thoughts as I endeavor to create a better world. My private practice is located in Fort Myers, FL, accessible from Cape Coral, Bonita, Estero & Naples. I specialize in working with vulnerable populations, particularly children ages 4-18. My office in Fort Myers is full of art supplies, therapeutic toys and sculptural materials for kids to play with and explore their emotions. The third one is my favorite!👇🏼Working with clay offers so many therapeutic benefits: 1. Clay is sensory- Probably more than any other art material, clay is tactile, moldable and responsive. From smoothing to creating texture, clay offers a chance to immerse yourself in the felt experience. 2. Clay allows for emotional release- By pounding, shaping and building something new, these techniques engage the body to let go of trapped emotions. Often, people will bottle up feelings of anger or anxiety, and clay offers a chance to express those feelings in a safe and non-threatening way. 3. Clay provides stress relief-The repetitive motions of your hands and body allow for your brain to move into the “flow state,” a place where you are totally immersed in the moment, and your nervous system becomes more relaxed. If you’ve never been experienced the therapeutic benefits of working with clay, we’ve got an exciting opportunity coming up…Like & Follow for more! ✨

I had a conversation with a mother recently who was looking for the right fit for her son for summer camps. “He always comes home overstimulated,” she said. “They’re just too big, there are not enough camp counselors.”

I designed Expressive Explorers for children who need a smaller, more supportive environment to meet their unique needs. These camps are limited to 8 children to provide 1:1 time and attention to each child.

I am offering ⭐️ 1 more camp ⭐️ this summer, “Float in Outer Space,” running July 29–August 1, 9am-3pm.

During this camp, your child will create their very own “alien” and discover sensory experiences like galaxy slime and water beads in one of our centers throughout the day.

Many of my neurodivergent clients feel “like an alien,” because the very definition of neurodivergence means you have a unique neuro type- that your brain works differently from that of a neurotypical person.

☄️When you feel like no one understands you, it can lead to feelings of isolation, low self esteem, problems in relationships and behavioral/communication issues.

🚀But children can also begin to understand that their “differences” are actually hidden strengths. They don’t automatically accept the status quo, they see patterns and behaviors to make more informed choices, and they are sensitive to changes in their environment, making them more attuned.

👽By creating their own alien based on their personal experience and abilities in “Float in Outer Space” camp, children can begin to appreciate their unique strengths!

Cost: $275, includes all materials and supplies

Artistic glimmers lately:
-Making fairy potions
-Kittens sleeping
-Pink peonies
-Cotton candy sky

A “glimmer” is the opposite of a “trigger”- it brings you joy and reminds you that life is full of tiny, beautiful moments.

Lately, I’ve been struggling to find the glimmers, but after looking through my recent photos, I realized that they’re all around me. ✨

What glimmers are in your life? ✨

Be who you are, for you are so very loved.

In this picture: A hand drawn rainbow is covered in splattered blue watercolor paint. I colored the rainbow first, then dropped the watercolors onto the page and used the power of my breath and being to push it around the page.

The resulting sketchbook piece is a reflection of being your truest self, despite the storms surrounding you. It’s about using the creative process to express your inner thoughts and feelings, without words.

👉🏻Where it started vs where it is now
Mandala is Sanskrit for “circle,” it is the beginning and the end of all things. Used by Buddhists for centuries to aid in meditation, these circular forms can take many shapes.

I ✨try✨ to work on my daily art practice, taking 15-30 minutes each morning to meditate creatively, using mandalas or simple prompts from devotional books or quotes that inspire me.

Doing a daily art practice really sets the tone for my day. When I don’t have the time, I notice that I’m offset.

I struggle to find balance, but creating art really does help me to refocus. It’s regulating my nervous system in a way that doesn’t feel forced or uncomfortable.

Currently, this mandala feels bright. It feels like spring, or upcoming summer, like rich turquoise waters and land that’s teeming with green.

I’ve enjoyed dappling the paints, pressing the markers into the page to make marks, swirling colors for the sheer joy of it, without worrying what it might look like.

Hi friends! I’m excited for summer camps 🥳 Please like, comment and share 💞
With summer right around the corner, I know many parents are wondering:
What do I do with my kiddo?!

I wanted to create a space where every child could THRIVE. Expressive Explorers infuse creativity into your child’s life, designed to help them understand their own thoughts and feelings on a deeper level.

While there are plenty of summer camps available in Fort Myers, this might be the only one run by a registered art therapist. While the camps aren’t considered “art therapy,” they’re facilitated by someone with a Master’s degree, who has extensive training in child development.
🙋🏻‍♀️

Each camp has a different theme, with 2-3 in depth projects and sensory centers to explore throughout the week.

Camps run Monday-Thursday, 9am-3pm. Open to children aged 5-8, with smaller camp sizes (8 children per week) and specific accommodations for every child.
$275 per week includes all materials and supplies!
💥Plus, if you register before May 31, you’ll get a FREE 30 minute parent coaching session!

“What’s a parent coaching session?”
📞 I spend time listening over the phone to your pain points as a parent, providing feedback and possible resources for you to check out.

Ex: How to effectively limit screen time, encourage independent play, how to manage household tasks, how to prevent/decrease meltdowns, etc.

*Parent coaching is normally part of my individualized care to clients, but I want to give this to you, at NO cost!
