In short, art therapy is a mental health profession that uses the process and products of art making to promote physical, mental and emotional well-being. I hold a bachelor's degree in Psychology from Florida Gulf Coast University and a Master of Science from Florida State University in Art Therapy. I am nationally registered with the American Art Therapy Association (ATR) and I have been working with children and teens for over nine years in nonprofit and psychiatric settings. My educational background has allowed me to work towards my life's purpose:

Today’s Fairy Meditation 🧚🏼

I always encourage my workshop participants to ground themselves in the present moment before approaching art making in order to deepen the experience.

I listen to Spirit as I craft each meditation, unique to every workshop. This particular meditation was meant to help participants envision their inner Fae, a playful nature spirit which invokes renewal as we approach spring.

Many people say that I have a calming effect as I do these meditations, and it is because I practice deep grounding myself. I also incorporate elements and skills from my past background in the performing arts and my passion for writing poetry.

It is all art to me- and it was beautiful to witness each participant’s process of creating their own Fairy Planter! Stay tuned for more to come!

I went into Dahlia’s classroom for a bit yesterday to read Dr. Seuss’s “Oh the Places You’ll Go!” for Read Across America Week. 📚

I brought the puppet Sally and they all LOVED IT. My daughter was also very helpful and her teacher was impressed by the classroom engagement.

I allow handshakes, high fives and hugs at the end. Some kids came up for second and third hugs, too. I could tell they needed it. 🫂

Check out this review for our own board certified art therapist Leeanna Mantica! We are thrilled to have her as part of our practice. 🎨

Leeanna primarily sees children, adolescents and late diagnosed adults who have ADHD and/or Autism Level I, approaching each client as a unique individual and tailoring experiences to their benefit.

Leeanna will be providing summer camps to neurodivergent children again in June!

hosted a workshop on grief, loss and identity recently with that shifted my own perspectives and will influence my work with clients. This is my own response artwork to “What does grief mean to you?” For me, grief is layered and complex, heavy and difficult, but bears beautiful new life from the pain. Grief is a universal experience. We have all felt loss at some point in our lives. Grief is just another cycle, like any other, and through this process of feeling, we can reimagine ways of being.

The lunar eclipse and full moon reminds me to slow down and reflect with purpose on my own grief, loss and pain. I use my artwork and other expressive modalities to move through it, not allowing it to stay trapped inside of me.

I encourage you to do your own reflecting, whether in community or quietly with your favorite journal at home. Whenever I see a heron, I’m reminded that it is a sign I am moving in the right direction.

Ask for clarity. Ask for strength. Ask for peace.

Spring is in the air 🌸 There is nothing I love more than appreciating nature as she awakens again.

On a recent trip to Tallahassee, I got to see so many flowers in bloom that I normally don’t get to witness in southwest Florida.

The Dogwood, Azaleas, Southern and Japanese Magnolia trees were just gorgeous! As a gardener and an artist, I was in heaven! 🌸🌼🌷

Teaching you is my greatest honor ☀️ Our children are learning from us constantly. How we act, what we say, the way we treat others AND the way we govern ourselves becomes imprinted on their psyche.

It begs the questions:
-Am I treating myself kindly?
-Am I loving myself fully?
-Am I acting out of fear, or out of love?

When we can love ourselves, love others and move through the world with kindness, we model that to the next generation.

SOLD OUT! 🔥 But more to come!

Nothing beat the feeling I experienced when I sold my very last baby dragon, on the very last day I was at ren faire, to the beautiful .drew.something …because as much as I love and adore all my friends, having a total stranger walk into the tent and fall in love with your work is why artists put in all the blood, sweat and tears that we do.

I’ve honed my skills as a ceramic and multimedia artist all of my life, from the time I was a little girl building fairy homes and tree forts. I would create entire worlds, with lore and rich symbolism, so it is a beautiful thing to share that with others, and have them receive it so warmly.

It fills my heart with joy that all my baby dragons went to good homes, because I don’t think I could bear it otherwise! 💗

Enjoy them as wall mounted or tabletop planters, incense cone holders (the smoke blows out their nostrils!) or simply to treasure and remind you that you are STRONG 🐉 BRAVE 🔥and RESILIENT ✨

2026 is off to a magical start!✨ I’ve been busy in the studio with sculpting baby dragons, mystical planters, mushrooms 🍄 and dragon egg pendant necklaces for the upcoming Venezia Renaissance Faire!

Come out to see us and catch a piece of magic before it’s gone! I won’t be making these again for a while. Prices range from $11-$100+ so treat yourself or someone you love to something special!
