March is Lymphedema Awareness Month. Learn how you can help raise awareness about this chronic condition that Aviva Lymphatics is dedicated to help people manage. Each year in the month of March, , ,advocacy groups, and companies come together to increase for a condition known as lymphedema. Lymphedema is an abnormal buildup of lymph fluid that can cause swelling in the arms, legs, and other areas of the body. The chronic condition is fast-moving, and there is currently no cure.

An estimated 5-10 million people in the United States are affected by lymphedema, part of approximately 150-250 million affected worldwide. Many industry analysts believe that these numbers – especially the U.S. figures – may be underestimated, as until recently the condition has been widely under diagnosed. Thanks to Lymphedema Awareness Month in March and countless efforts by advocates spanning the patient base and the medical community, lymphedema is becoming more understood, diagnosed, and treated.

What is the main cause of lymphedema?

Lymphedema is caused by damage to the lymphatic system, which can be due to injury, surgery, cancer treatments, or other health conditions.

Causes
Injury: Deep cuts, bruises, or sports injuries can damage lymph vessels

Surgery: Removing lymph nodes during cancer treatments, such as breast cancer, can cause lymphedema

Radiation: Radiation therapy for cancer can damage lymph nodes and vessels

Infection: Scarring from certain infections can damage the lymphatic system

Genetic disorders: Some people are born with a lymphatic system that doesn’t work properly

Obesity: Extra fatty tissue can put pressure on lymph nodes and vessels

Venous insufficiency: Chronic venous disease, such as varicose veins, can overload the venous system

Other health conditions: Liver disease, heart disease, or autoimmune disease can contribute to lymphedema

Symptoms
causes swelling in the arms, legs, or other areas of the body. The swelling can lead to pain and discomfort, especially with prolonged sitting or standing, physical activity, or tight clothing.

Post Partum
.
Pregnancy results in increased blood volume, hormonal fluctuations, and pressure on the lymphatic vessels. This can lead to swelling, or edema, in various parts of the body, commonly in the legs and feet. Additionally, after childbirth, the body needs to rid itself of excess fluids retained during pregnancy, which can further strain the lymphatic system.

MLD involves specialized techniques that promote the natural flow of lymphatic fluid, aiding in the removal of waste, toxins, and excess fluid from the body. This therapy is performed by a trained therapist who is certified and has knowledge about the Lymphatic System.

To help your body's balance and help with the pain, inflammation, and allover well-being, you can try this product that i use at home to ground myself...

The reason walking barefoot in the grass, sand or even concrete feels so good isn't just because your feet is directly making contact with mother nature's elements, you are also making direct electrical contact with the earth's healing power.

Throughout history, humans lived outdoor lifestyles, hunting and farming, often barefoot, so they were grounded constantly.

In the modern age, most people live an ungrounded, indoor lifestyle. When we do go outside, we wear shoes with rubber soles, which prevent us from receiving the benefits of grounding with the earth.

These products plug directly into the grounding socket of your wall to conduct the grounding effects of the earth directly on your body.

• Reduce Chronic Pain

• Boost Sleep Quality

• Improve Mood & Focus

• Decrease Inflammation

• Decrease swelling/edema
