We have received confirmation from Lee County Emergency Center that our residents and team members are clear to return to the Seaside at Fort Myers community.

We will be transferring all evacuated residents from The Madyson at Palm Beach Gardens back to Seaside at Fort Myers today.

Residents who sheltered with their families will be welcome back and will be contacted separately to confirm a time when they may return to the community.

We would like to give a special shout out to our amazing RUI team members and residents at the host communities who graciously shared their home and cared for our evacuated residents.

We would also like to, once again, thank our families for their support during this transition. Your patience and encouraging words are truly appreciated. We will send out an update once the residents have arrived safely and settled at the community.

We are pleased to announce that our evacuated residents and team members remained safely sheltered at The Madyson at Palm Beach Gardens throughout the storm. Our Seaside at Fort Myers community sustained minimal damage which will not interfere with the return of the residents.

The county emergency management must clear the Seaside at Fort Myers building for residents’ return. As soon as we receive the word to move forward, we will send additional communication to inform all residents and family members of our plans to return.

We want to thank each of our families for their support and patience during this evacuation. We thank you for trusting our team to care for your loved ones as their safety is our top priority.

Family members are encouraged to contact their loved ones directly. Should you have any additional questions regarding our Seaside at Fort Myers residents please reach out to 239.349.3769.

Due to the intensity of Hurricane Milton, Lee County has implemented a mandatory evacuation for the area that includes our Seaside at Fort Myers community. Therefore, we will be evacuating all residents to another Retirement Unlimited, Inc. (RUI) community.

• All Independent, Assisted Living, and Memory Care residents and assigned team members will evacuate tomorrow morning, October 8, between 10:00am and 12:00pm to The Madyson at Palm Beach Gardens at 13465 Pasteur Boulevard, Palm Beach Gardens, FL 33418.
• If you plan to have your loved one evacuate with you, please contact Slade Dietz today at 239.349.3769.

We want to assure you that we have prepared for severe weather and have implemented our hurricane emergency evacuation measures to protect our residents and team members. Our team members at Seaside at Fort Myers will be traveling and staying with residents during the duration of the storm at their designated evacuation location.

Several of the items our team has ensured are in place through our plan at our intake communities include:
• Emergency generators are fully fueled
• All residents will be given identification wrist bands
• Accommodations have been made for additional team member support to travel and stay with the residents at their designated community
• Emergency Kits for each department have been fully stocked into U-Hauls including items such as flashlights, batteries, food, bottled water, and medical supplies
• The building will be locked and inaccessible to any individuals until return of the residents. Our environmental services team will be the first on-site after the storm to open the building and ensure it’s safe to receive the residents and team members back.

Because we are evacuating all team members and residents, we will be utilizing a call center for all incoming calls to the community’s main number after the evacuation tomorrow. The call center will be knowledgeable of information concerning resident’s location and evacuation status.
