💙 Celebrating Growth, Training, and Success at Project SEARCH 💙
We’re proud to share highlights from this quarter at Project SEARCH!
✔️ Our interns successfully completed BLS training, gaining life-saving skills and workplace readiness thanks to our valued partners at Florida SouthWestern State College.
✔️ Interns continue to make a meaningful impact across the hospital, bringing dedication, professionalism, and enthusiasm to every department they serve.
✔️ We’re celebrating successful employment outcomes, including alumni like JM, who turned determination into a full-time career and now helps train the next generation of interns.
None of this would be possible without the incredible support of our partners, mentors, and advocates who believe in creating competitive, meaningful employment opportunities for individuals with developmental disabilities.
👏 Thank you to everyone who helps make these successes possible—together, we’re building futures.

💡 Did You Know About the JP-PAS Program?

At the Center for Independent Living Gulf Coast, we’re all about helping people with disabilities live and work independently in our community. One program that makes a big difference is the James Patrick Memorial Work Incentive Personal Attendant Services (JP-PAS) Program.

This statewide program provides financial assistance to Floridians with severe or chronic disabilities who are employed and need help from a personal care attendant (PCA) with at least two activities of daily living—like bathing, dressing, eating, grooming, or toileting.

The JP-PAS Program is funded through the Tax Collection Enforcement Diversion Program, which allows individuals to repay delinquent taxes instead of facing prosecution. Those funds are then used to support employment and independence for people with disabilities across Florida.

✅ Who may qualify:
Florida residents with a severe or chronic disability
Individuals who are gainfully employed
Those who need help with at least 2 daily living activities

Together, we’re building a more inclusive, accessible, and independent Florida.

Are you employed? Do you have a significant disability? If you require assistance with at least two activities of daily living to attain and maintain employment, you may be eligible for a reimbursement of up to $2,330 per month to help offset the cost of your personal care expenses.
