A Proud Moment for Gulf Coast Humane Society
We are incredibly honored to share that Gulf Coast Humane Society has received two prestigious awards from the Florida Animal Protection and Advocacy Association (FAPAA). These honors reflect the dedication, creativity, and collaboration that define our mission.

Associate Organization of the Year

This award recognizes a FAPAA Associate Member for outstanding dedication to animal welfare and proactive community engagement. At GCHS, we believe animal welfare is a team sport. This honor celebrates our role as a strong ally to animal control and protection agencies, leading by example through effective programs and measurable outcomes for the animals in our care. This belongs to our staff, volunteers, and partners who work alongside us every day.

Triumphant Tail Award – Ivory’s Journey

The Triumphant Tail Award celebrates a powerful success story of an animal who faced significant barriers to placement. Ivory’s journey began in darkness and neglect; her condition was heartbreaking, and her future was uncertain.

This award honors the extraordinary commitment and medical intervention required to give a "hard-to-place" animal a second chance. Our team, veterinarians, and volunteers went above and beyond to provide the long-term care and behavioral support Ivory needed to heal. Today, her story is a testament to the resilience of animals and the power of specialized care.

Adoption Update! 🐾

After 173 days at GCHS, our sweet girl Yogurt has officially been adopted! Watching long-stay pets like Yogurt find the families they’ve been waiting for is one of the best parts of what we do. 💛

Right now, all adoption fees are ½ price through March 15th to help more pets find loving homes. Every adoption makes a difference — when one animal is adopted, it allows us to help another homeless pet who needs care, safety, and a second chance.

If you’ve been thinking about adopting, now is the perfect time to meet your new best friend.
