Filmmaker, activist, legend: There aren't enough words to describe Rob Reiner and the legacy he leaves behind. His mark on comedy and film is undeniable, from his role as Meathead in "All in the Family," to directing beloved classics like "This is Spinal Tap," "The Princess Bride" and "When Harry Met Sally..." just to name a few. It's hard to find someone who hasn't been touched by his work — or who can't recite a few quotable lines from his classic movies.

His iconic characters defined a generation and continue to leave a lasting impression on media and pop culture. If you turn on the TV, there's a good chance you'll hear a reference to a Rob Reiner film. That's the staying power of a comedic giant like him.

Neptune Society and National Cremation Society Hudson partnered to sponsor wreaths at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, FL, as part of Wreaths Across America, the annual volunteer event honoring and remembering those who have served our country.
"It was an honor to assist our families in remembering their loved ones," said National Cremation Society Hudson Service Manager Matthew Moss, who attended the wreath-laying ceremony with Neptune Ocala Service Manager Alexis Garcia to witness the laying of wreaths brought by families we've served.

Working on a dream: Once again this year, members of the SCI Direct corporate team in South Florida volunteered with Habitat for Humanity of Broward to work on a house that will be home to a family in need, who also participated in the construction process.
We're honored to work with Habitat and the families they help in their mission of community development by building homes with affordable mortgages – not handouts – and addressing housing crises globally.

Neptune Fort Myers Service Manager Peter Piscitelli, right, attended the 2025 Annual Cameo of Lee County (Cooperative Associates Marketing Elderly Options) grant recipients meeting. $75,000 was given to local nonprofit organizations this year to assist in programs for the elderly. Pictured here is just one of the recipients: Golden Retriever Rescue of Southwest Florida, providing loving companionship to those in need.

Neptune Fort Myers Service Manager Peter Piscitelli was honored to attend the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s 2025 Days of Remembrance program with Ret. Col. Frank Cohn at the US Capitol for the second year. Frank escaped N**i Germany at age 13 with his mother and was drafted into the Army during WWII. Frank will turn 100 years old this August, and his incredible story is one that remains timeless.
Secretary of Commerce Howard Lutnick was the keynote speaker, and the message of the day was that we must never forget what hatred can do to a nation and its people. Today there are approximately 220,800 Holocaust survivors alive worldwide.

Neptune Fort Myers Service Manager Peter Piscitelli was honored to host members of the Seniors Blue Book for a Rise and Shine Breakfast. Local businesses serving seniors turned out for a tour, round-table discussion and networking on what they specialize in and their role in the community. It also gave Neptune a chance to explain what we do, and how deeply committed we are to the families we serve.

Neptune Fort Myers Service Manager Peter Piscitelli attended the Pancake Breakfast at Amavida Retirement Living in Fort Myers, held for the residents and local businesses to help raise money for the Alzheimer's Association. It was great to meet Beth Cordi, Amavida's new director of marketing and sales (pictured with Peter), and we’re looking forward to working with Amavida in the future.

Neptune Fort Myers Service Manager Peter Piscitelli presented a check donating to the Cape Coral Police Department's annual Christmas Shop With A Cop program, in which children in need get to spend the day with an officer and shop for Christmas gifts. It’s an honor for us to sponsor two children every year!

Neptune Fort Myers Services Manager Peter Piscitelli attended the monthly Senior Services Luncheon, where the focus was collecting toys for the Dr. Piper Center for Social Services, an annual tradition to help brighten the holidays for our community’s at-risk children.
“It was great to see so many folks there, and an honor to donate,” Peter said.

Neptune Fort Myers Service Manager Peter Piscitelli was a guest vendor of Seniors Blue Book at the Peace Lutheran Church in Fort Myers. Peter is pictured with Amanda Barton, the managing partner and publisher of Seniors Blue Book, a great resource for our seniors here in Lee County. The health fair was an opportunity for people to reach out to different vendors specializing in senior living, ask questions and get answers to many of the needs our seniors have and the challenges they face.

Neptune Fort Myers Service Manager Peter Piscitelli was proud to present the Cape Coral Police Department with a check for their Shop with a Cop program. Neptune has supported this program twice a year, which allows children in need to go shopping with a police officer to obtain supplies for the upcoming school year. The second Shop with a Cop program takes place over the Christmas holiday.
“It truly is my honor to be able to represent Neptune and help the children in this community who need our assistance,” Peter said.

Neptune Fort Myers Service Manager Peter Piscitelli visited the folks at Amavida Living on to drop off treats in appreciation of the staff and all the hard work they do. Later in July, Peter will be attending a Planning Your Future day for the residents, and will answer questions about cremation and the services Neptune offers.

Neptune Fort Myers Service Manager Peter Piscitelli was honored to be a guest of Ret. U.S. Col. Frank Cohn, 97, at the 2024 at the U.S. Capitol. Col. Cohn escaped N**i Germany at age 13 and was drafted at 18 into the U.S. Army. He served as an Intelligence Officer in WWII and spent over 30 years with the Army. He was honored at the event by House Speaker Mike Johnson, and met with President Joe Biden. Later, he was again honored by Gen. David Petraeus for his lifetime achievements and continued work with the United States Holocaust Memorial Museum, with the clear message there is no place in our country for hatred, discrimination, or violence.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Col. Cohn for his dedication and service.
