We’ve made a great move to join forces with Lee Health Cancer Institute to spread HOPE across SW Florida.

We’re thrilled to announce that South Florida Surgical Oncology is now part of the Lee Health Cancer Institute family.

This transition ensures continuity of care and enhances our ability to provide the high-quality, compassionate cancer care our patients deserve.

Dr. Bloomston, Dr. Allan, and Dr. Mosquera will continue their dedicated work, ensuring current patients experience no changes to their ongoing treatments.

As of today, the Surgical Oncology team will be at a temporary location.
8925 Colonial Center Drive, Suite 1000
Fort Myers, FL 33905 (Regional Cancer Center)

We are committed to a seamless transition and look forward to serving our community with the utmost care and expertise.

💙 Together, we’re redefining cancer care for Southwest Florida.

Our friend, Pedro, somehow has managed to avoid getting his picture taken with us...until now. He is celebrating over 6 years of being free of pancreatic cancer. We first met him when he developed jaundice in May 2018. He had his whipple the next week and was back to work in no time. He continues to work without any effects from his surgery or concerns for cancer. Congratulations, Pedro. You are HOPE!

Brooke, now 27, had just given birth one month prior to being found to have a rare tumor on her pancreas. She did not hesitate and immediately agreed to surgery she underwent a Whipple the next day. Not only did she recover like a champ, she left her first postoperative office visit to head to the Florida Keys for a month. The story gets even better. She changed hospitals and now assists our team in the operating room doing whipples every week. Here she is on her one-year whippleversary, fully recovered and cancer-free. Great job Brooke! You are HOPE!

We usually post patients after their one year anniversary from surgery but we couldn’t wait to show off Dee. At a spry 92 years of age, she developed a pancreatic cancer. Faced with a tough decision regarding extensive surgery, she elected to move forward with her Whipple operation. Here she is not even 6 weeks postop looking fabulous. Congratulations, Dee. You are HOPE!

Is it possible to live without a stomach? Just ask Maria. She was diagnosed with stomach cancer in January 2023. After 2 months of aggressive chemotherapy, she had her entire stomach and surrounding lymph nodes removed in May 2023. This was followed by 2 more months of chemotherapy and she is now cancer free. She reports feeling back to normal and eating whatever she wants. Way to go Maria! You are HOPE!!
