Thrive PPEC Now accepting new families!

Therapy shouldn’t only happen for 30 minutes in a clinic.

For children with medical complexity, the real progress happens throughout the day—during meals, play, movement, communication, and care routines.

That’s why having speech, feeding, physical, and occupational therapy embedded into the PPEC day is so powerful. Our therapists and nurses work together in real time so new skills are practiced safely and consistently—not just once or twice a week.

And something just as important happens here: parents learn too

You don’t just hear what your child’s goals are—you see the techniques, understand the “why,” and gain the confidence to carry them into your home and daily life.

The result:
-More consistent progress
-Greater confidence for families
-Clearer communication with your child’s physicians and specialists

Because the goal isn’t just progress inside our walls—it’s progress that follows your child home.

For physicians, specialists, and clinical practices, caring for children with medical complexity doesn’t end when the appointment is over. Between visits, so much can change—symptoms fluctuate, medications are adjusted, and new challenges emerge at home. That’s where a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) center becomes an invaluable extension of the care team.

PPEC nurses provide daily, hands-on clinical observation that helps establish true baselines for each child. We ensure prescribed medications, treatments, and therapies are delivered consistently and correctly—while monitoring how the child responds in real time. This continuous “set of eyes” allows us to recognize patterns that may be difficult to capture in short office visits:

• What symptoms are being triggered—or relieved—throughout the day

• How therapies are impacting function and behavior

• Whether medications are achieving the intended effect

• Subtle changes that may signal the need for earlier intervention

Beyond clinical monitoring, PPECs play a critical role in educating and empowering parents. New parenting is challenging on its own; adding medical complexity can feel overwhelming. We help families understand diagnoses, equipment, medications, and resources so they can confidently advocate for their child alongside their medical providers.

At Thrive PPEC, we see ourselves as partners to the physicians and specialists who guide each child’s care. By sharing timely observations and collaborating closely with practices, we help create a fuller picture of the child’s health—leading to better-informed decisions and stronger outcomes.

We welcome the opportunity to collaborate with local providers. If you have patients who could benefit from consistent nursing oversight, medication management, therapy support, and parent education, let’s connect. We’re happy to arrange a tour, discuss your plan of care, or coordinate communication protocols that fit your practice.

Parenting is a journey filled with joy, questions, and plenty of unknowns. When a child has medical complexities, that journey can feel even heavier.

At Thrive PPEC, we see parents as the true experts and strongest advocates for their children. Our role is to stand beside them—as an extension of their care, concern, and hope. We partner with families to help navigate medical needs, understand diagnoses, and connect with the resources that make daily life a little more manageable.

Parents are coordinating so much behind the scenes—pediatricians, specialists, therapists, transportation, equipment, and medications—all to ensure their child has every opportunity to grow and thrive. We’re honored to be part of that circle of support, providing skilled nursing care, education, and a safe place where children can learn, play, and receive the attention they deserve.

No parent should feel like they’re walking this path alone. Together, we can minimize the challenges and focus on what matters most—helping every child reach their fullest potential.

When families are choosing a Prescribed Pediatric Extended Care (PPEC) program, it’s about more than a license—it’s about trust.

A high-quality PPEC is built on experienced pediatric nurses, the ability to safely care for children with complex medical needs, and an environment where both children and parents feel comfortable and supported. Every child’s care plan is unique, and consistency, communication, and compassion matter.

Just as important is having a team that understands how to navigate Medicaid, medical providers, therapists, and transportation systems, so families can focus on their child—not paperwork or coordination challenges.

And just as importantly, finding the right PPEC is a personal decision. If we’re not the right fit for your family or your child, you’ll know—and we will always encourage families to explore other PPECs in the community to find the program that best meets their child’s needs.

Above all, families deserve a PPEC that treats their child like their own and partners with them every step of the way.
