Introducing the N GA Peds Therapies App!!
We are excited to have this new app to help us design more individualized Home Exercise Programs for the children that we work with.

How do I access??
Once your provider at NGPT sets you up with a Home Exercise Program, you will receive an email with further directions. Your provider will walk you through the first time using and show you how to access your individualized home program.

Have you heard of the 35th Anniversary of Americans with Disabilities Act? This year the City of Chattanooga Mayor’s Council on Disability will be hosting an event on Friday, July 25th from 10-1 at the Walker Pavilion in Coolidge Park! This will be an event to celebrate the Anniversary. There will be free food, vendors, networking opportunities, and fun! Go to the Mayor’s Council on Disability page to get more information.

For Speech Language Hearing Month, we will be posting about some hot topics with Q&A by our NLA trained SLP, Baylie.

Does your little label items, use "academic" words, or immediately echo your words back to you? They might be a gestalt language processor (GLP)!

How we support these kids looks different than how we would treat a typical language delay. Meaningful Speech is a great resource to find ways to help your little who might be a GLP!

🗣️✨ Speech Milestones at 12 Months ✨🗣️

Around their first birthday, little ones are developing quickly. Speech development is an exciting part of this journey! Here are some key speech milestones to look for around this age:

Babbling: Your baby may begin to combine sounds like "ba-ba," "da-da," or "ma-ma." They might not have specific meanings yet, but this is a sign of early language developing.

Responding to Their Name: By now, babies will respond to their name by looking/turning toward the person who just called them.

Understanding Simple Words: Your baby might understand simple directions like "wave bye-bye" or "give me the toy."

Expressing Wants/Needs with Gestures: Your baby might use gestures like pointing, reaching, or shaking their head to communicate.

Imitating Some Sounds: Your little one may start imitating the sounds they hear from you, a key step in learning to speak!
