Meet Selena Stewart, Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW) at our BRAND NEW Mind Right Kids🌈☀️🩷

Selena has been serving clients with compassion and dedication since 2024, bringing warmth, patience, and creativity to every session.

Why I Became a Therapist:
I want every child to feel capable, connected, and empowered to become their best self. Helping kids believe in their own strengths and potential is what drives my work every day.

Favorite Therapy Style / Specialty:
I specialize in Child Centered Play Therapy, a research backed approach that allows children to express themselves through play, the language they know best. In this safe, supportive environment, kids are free to explore their feelings, build problem-solving skills, and develop confidence, all while being fully accepted just as they are.

Fun Fact:
I’m a proud mom of five amazing kids ranging in age from 7 to 27 so I understand firsthand the joys, challenges, and growth that come with every stage of childhood.

We’re so thankful for the heart and dedication Selena brings to our team and the families we serve! 🖤

Meet Heather Henry, therapist & owner of Mind Right Therapy

Heather is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker Supervisor (LICSW-S) who has been walking alongside clients in their healing journeys since 2015.

Why I Became a Therapist:
I became a therapist because I have always been drawn to people’s stories and the deeper reasons behind their struggles. I have experienced seasons of brokenness myself, and I know the power of having someone walk with you through healing. Being that person for someone else is a calling I do not take lightly.

Favorite Therapy Style / Specialty:
I specialize in trauma-informed therapy, including Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART) and play therapy. I love using creative and experiential methods to help clients, both kids and adults, move from survival mode into a place of freedom and wholeness.

Fun Fact:
I lived in India the summer before my senior year of college. It was one of the most formative and perspective-shifting experiences of my life, and it deepened my heart for cultures, people, and spiritual transformation.

We’re so grateful for her leadership and heart here at Mind Right! 🖤

There’s a common misconception that therapy is just sitting on a couch while someone asks you personal, uncomfortable questions. At Mind Right Psychotherapy, that’s not how we do things. In this video, our therapist introduces Sand Tray Therapy — a creative, hands-on approach that goes beyond words. You’ll see a real sand tray session in action and learn how this powerful tool helps people express thoughts and emotions they may not have the words for.We talk about what you want to talk about, in the way that feels right for you. Take a look at how healing can start in the sand. Reach out to us to get started! 256-273-6800

This role is perfect for a clinician who finds joy in helping young clients navigate their challenges in a warm, engaging, and age-appropriate way.

If you thrive in a child-centered environment and are committed to making a meaningful impact in the lives of young clients, we’d love to hear from you.

Feeling Stuck Emotionally? Your Body Might Hold the Key.

At Mind Right Psychotherapy, we believe that healing isn’t just in your head, it’s in your body too.

Somatic therapy is a powerful approach that helps you reconnect with your body to process and release emotions that may be stuck beneath the surface. Often, our bodies store the stress, trauma, and emotions we haven’t fully processed. You might feel it as tension in your shoulders, a pit in your stomach, or chronic fatigue that just won’t go away.

Through gentle awareness, breathwork, movement, and guided body focused techniques, somatic therapy helps you:

•Understand the messages your body is sending
•Process emotions that talk therapy alone may not reach
•Feel more grounded, calm, and connected to yourself

If you’ve ever said, “I know I’m upset, but I don’t know why,” somatic therapy might be the missing link.

Let’s help you get your mind right and your body too!

Message us to schedule a session with one of our trained somatic therapists!

Therapy FAQ: “What if I don’t know what to say?”

That’s completely okay and actually very common.

Your therapist is trained to help guide the conversation. You don’t need to have all the words or a clear agenda. Just showing up is a powerful first step.

Sometimes, silence or uncertainty says more than we think and that’s where the work begins.

Have more questions? We’re here to answer them. No pressure, just support.

Therapy Myths Debunked
Myth: “You have to be in crisis to go to therapy.”
Truth: Therapy isn’t just for when everything falls apart. It’s also for building self-awareness, improving relationships, managing stress, and growing into the person you want to be.

Think of therapy like going to the gym—not because something is broken, but because you want to strengthen your mental and emotional well-being.

You don’t have to wait until it feels like “rock bottom.” You’re allowed to seek support simply because you want life to feel better.

You are worthy of help at any stage of your journey. Let us help you get your Mind Right!
