Edwin Rolland Carlson, Jr., 86, passed away on April 15, 2026, in Fort Pierce, Florida.

Born on August 3, 1939, in Seattle, Washington, Edwin was the son of Edwin and Hazel Carlson. He later made his home in Fort Pierce, Florida, where he built a life centered on family, service, and hard work.

Edwin proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps for ten years, attaining the rank of Corporal. His service included time during the Vietnam War, and he was a prisoner of war survivor—an experience that reflected his strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit.

Following his military service, Edwin became co-owner of North Pacific Plywood, where he dedicated 29 years of his professional life. He was a man of strong faith and was of the Southern Baptist tradition.

Outside of work, Edwin found joy in the simple pleasures of life. He was an avid hunter and fisherman who cherished time spent outdoors, especially when shared with his beloved grandchildren. His greatest happiness came from being surrounded by his family, creating lasting memories across generations.

He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Linda Carlson; his children, Todd (Debra) Thomas of Fort Pierce, Florida, and Kimberly (Burt) Gregory of Spanaway, Washington; seven grandchildren; and fifteen great-grandchildren.

He was predeceased by both his mother and father Edwin and Hazel Carlson, his special auntie Violet (Vi), and one granddaughter Angela Nicole.

A visitation will be held on Sunday, April 19, 2026, from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM at Haisley Funeral Home. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM at White City Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in Edwin’s honor to HMM-162 Marine Corps Reunions.

Edwin will be remembered for his courage, dedication, and the deep love he had for his family. His legacy lives on in the lives he touched and the family he cherished.

Crystene Lenore Corrin

Crystene Lenore Corrin, a resident of Port St. Lucie, Florida, departed this life on April 11, 2026, for the greatest adventure that she could imagine - eternal life, and finally meeting her Guardian Angel whom she named Frank.

Crysie was born in Anaheim, California, on August 13, 1948 to Marie Lenore and Roger Elroy Corrin. She was predeceased by her sister, Sharon Marie Corrin, and is survived by her sister Carol Rae Corrin, and her dear friends and caregivers Laura and RG McFarland.

Her career at Indian River Community College (IRCC), now Indian River State College, spanned decades; her leadership position in the School of Cosmetology touched and influenced generations of students and her passion, creativity, and teaching excellence received many accolades from students, faculty, and administration.

Her zest for life was evident in Crysie’s insatiable desire for the next “adventure.” She saw life as a gift to be fully lived with joy, laughter, generosity, gratitude, and faith. Her enthusiasm was only outdone by her compassion. Her energy and spirit were palpable and precious gifts to all who knew her.

Crysie’s faith was foundational to her living. Her life reflected her deep faith in the dignity of every person and One who created every person and the world she enjoyed with such delight. She was a fierce advocate for those on the margins and believed, in the end, love would win. Her passing during the Octave of Easter was an apt punctuation to her life of faith in resurrection and new life when this chapter of her pilgrimage was finished.

The famous quote attributed to the French Jesuit priest and philosopher Pierre Tielhard de Chardin sums up Crysie’s life: “Joy is the infallible sign of the presence of God." Crysie showed many people the face and heart of God through her joy, her distinct laughter, and through the many untold and unknown good works that preceded her into Eternal Life. Her life was an invitation to find joy and be the living presence of God in this world. That is her legacy and our challenge.

In your charity, please offer a prayer for the repose of Crysie’s soul, and a prayer for those who have no one to pray for them. She would like that.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered at St. Bernadette’s Catholic Church 350 NW California Blvd, Port St. Lucie, FL. May 9th, 2026, at 12:00 P.M.

We are in the process of planning a Celebration of Life that will take place after the Funeral Mass. An Inurnment will be at Riverview Memorial Park, Fort Pierce, FL. at a later date.

Mathew Robert Morgan

The family of Mathew ‘Matt’ Robert Morgan is saddened to announce his passing on March 10, 2026 in Vero Beach at the age of 64.

Matt was born on September 25th, 1961 to Robert Morgan and Gertrude Morgan in Miami, FL. Matt was an only child, but he was extremely close to his cousin Debbie whom he considered a sister. In his youth, Matt enjoyed exploring the city with his friends and joining his family on boat trips to the Caribbean. Matt enjoyed classic and hard rock, Stephen King novels, and anything movie or television. Matt was patient and caring with those close to him, and he had a quick, playful sense of humor. Matt was also stubborn and would avoid hard topics and difficult conversations like the plague - but that was just who Matt was.

Matt is survived by his wife, Cynthia, his two daughters from a previous marriage, Alex and KC, as well as the many friends and colleagues who have known and cared for him throughout his life. Matt has been laid to rest at Venice Memorial Gardens, located at 1950 Center Road, Venice, FL, beside his mother and father.

We’re here at Riverview Memorial Park Cemetery, just touching on my 5-15-50 rule when it comes to cremation.

Behind us is a mausoleum, which is home to caskets placed in crypts and urns placed in niches. When you choose cremation, you have several meaningful options. You can bury the urn in an in-ground plot, place it in a niche, or choose to scatter.

Scattering at sea is very popular here in Florida. We offer both witnessed and unwitnessed scattering services, or you can even do it yourself—you just need to go at least 3 nautical miles offshore.

Psssst… as tempting as it might be, it’s not appropriate to scatter at the 18th hole—even if your loved one was an avid golfer.

We hope this helps explain a little more about your options when choosing cremation for your loved one.

And remember… Get Busy Living.
