American Heart Association has published its Heart Disease and Stroke Statistics: 2026 Update.

According to the update:

🫀 Heart disease remains the **leading cause of death** in the U.S. and stroke has moved up to the #4 spot.

🫀Together, heart disease and stroke accounted for more than a quarter of all deaths in the U.S. in 2023, the most recent year for which data is available.

🫀Cardiovascular diseases, including all types of heart disease and stroke, claim more lives in the U.S. each year than all forms of cancer and accidental deaths — the #2 and #3 causes of death — combined.

These statistics present a sobering reality of cardiovascular diseases and the attention we owe to our hearts.

Anley Cardiovascular’s Dr. Ellis Christian was honored to volunteer at the Jessica Clinton MVP Foundation youth heart-screening event in Port St. Lucie this weekend. ❤️

Dr. Christian brought along the echocardiogram machine, helping screen participants ages 5–20 and offering valuable cardiac insights to families along with all the other medical professionals volunteering their time for such an important cause. In addition to the heart screenings, kids also received hands-on CPR training from Every Second Counts CPR using practice machines — an empowering experience that could one day save lives.

We’re deeply grateful to the Jessica Clinton MVP Foundation for hosting such an impactful event and allowing us to be part of this life-saving mission. 🫀
