Suncoast accepts all Medicaid managed care plans and Florida Healthy Kids plans designated to our local service area as well as clients who choose to self-pay.

Our Story

Suncoast Mental Health Center, Inc. (SMHC) was founded in 1998 by 3 local clinicians whose goals were to provide mental and behavioral health services to their local community. These services were to include children and families who are considered to be at-risk and whose resources are considered to be limited.

SMHC has since become a leading mental and behavioral health agency on the Treasure Coast that provides therapeutic and case management treatment services to children, adults and families. SMHC also offers free support groups and organizes free mental health awareness and education events that are open to the public.

SMHC offers an alternative to traditional therapy and psychiatric services by providing an environment that nurtures the child, affirms the adolescent, and empowers the adults and families.

SMHC’s goal is to assist all clients in reaching their fullest potential. SMHC’s core values include celebrating diversity, promoting recovery, using quality programs, aiding in public awareness, collaboration with clients and other agencies, and use of technology to improve efficiency and quality of care.
