Cedarwood Oil
Align your root chakra: become grounded, reduce anxiety, and promote a sense of stability. Used by the ancient Egyptians, Mesopotamians, Romans, and Greeks.
1. Prepare the Oil:
• Dilute 2–3 drops of cedarwood essential oil with 1 teaspoon of carrier oil (a 2–3% dilution for safe topical use). Mix in a small bowl or directly in your hands.
2. Set the Space:
• Find a quiet, comfortable spot. Sit on the floor or a cushion to feel connected to the earth.
• If using a candle, light it to focus your intention (red aligns with the Root Chakra).
• Take a few deep breaths to center yourself, focusing on releasing stress.
3. Apply the Oil:
• Rub the diluted cedarwood oil onto the soles of your feet, massaging gently. The feet are closely tied to the Root Chakra’s grounding energy.
• As you massage, visualize roots extending from your feet into the earth, anchoring you deeply.
4. Meditation and Affirmation:
• Sit cross-legged or in a stable position. Close your eyes and inhale the earthy, woody scent of cedarwood from your hands or a nearby diffuser (add 4–6 drops to a diffuser if preferred).
• Repeat a Root Chakra affirmation, such as: “I am safe, grounded, and connected to the earth.”
• Focus on the base of your spine, imagining a warm, red glow growing stronger with each breath.
5. Grounding Visualization:
• Picture yourself standing tall like a tree (cedarwood’s essence), with roots anchoring you to the ground. Feel secure and supported.
• Spend 5–10 minutes here, breathing deeply and letting the scent enhance your sense of stability.
6. Close the Practice:
• Gently bring your awareness back to the room. If using a candle, extinguish it safely.
• Thank yourself for taking this time to nurture your Root Chakra.
