Did you know that victims have the right to be notified if a defendant’s custody status changes (Art. I, sec. 24)? This could be a change in the jail facility, or that the defendant was released from jail. For victims of domestic violence, knowing about a defendant’s release allows them to safety plan, work with an advocate, or partner with a local shelter for assistance. Victims can easily exercise this right to notice by registering for VINELink, which is an automated system that will send notice in real-time (AS 12.61.050). Notices from VINELink can be sent via text, email or phone call.

Anchorage Cops for Community 10th Annual Clothesline Project is is August 3, 2024, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM at Clark Middle School!

Community members and APD will distribute clothes to students and families in preparation for the upcoming school year.

Giveaway items vary and will include things like new winter jackets, new fall and winter boots, new helmets, new socks and underwear, fresh haircuts, health immunization screening, free food and drinks, free face painting, jump house fun, and so much more.

Everyone is welcome, we hope to see you there!
