This month we’re excited to shine the spotlight on Bryson, one of our PTAs here at Mercy Rehabilitation Hospital!
Bryson first discovered a passion for physical therapy after going through it personally as a high school athlete. Originally planning to work with athletes in outpatient care, life took him in a different direction — and he couldn’t be more thankful. Three years ago, he started his career here in inpatient rehab and quickly fell in love with working with the adult population.
When asked what he loves most about his job, Bryson shared:
“My absolute favorite part is seeing a patient’s joy and raw emotion after they accomplish their goals and get to return home. Sometimes we’re not 100% certain if a patient will progress enough in their short stay to make it home. But when they do — after putting in so much hard work — watching them go out the front doors is a reminder of why we do what we do.”
Not only does he love his patients, but he also loves the team atmosphere at Mercy Rehab:
“If you walk in the gym on any given day, you’ll be greeted with a lot of laughter and smiling faces. My coworkers do such a great job making this a fun place for both employees and patients.”
Outside of work, you’ll usually find him spending time with his wife, Chloe, and their two boys, Bladen and Bowen. They enjoy being outdoors, riding their side by side, golfing, fishing, and deer hunting. And if it’s fall, chances are the whole family is tuned in to Oklahoma Sooner football!
If he could have one superpower? He’d pick the ability to read minds — especially to know whether his patients are truly tired during therapy or just pulling his leg! 😉
We’re so grateful for Bryson and the heart he brings to our patients and team every single day.
