I am steadily recovering and slowly but surely getting back to normal. In the meantime (during the moments I feel close to normal), I’m reading and researching. I learned about this organization while attending UAFS and during this downtime I feel moved to share about it. Reading is something many of us take for granted, yet many of our fellow Arkansans need support in this matter. This article explains the wonderful work that the Literacy Council of Western Arkansas does for our community and how we can help support them ❤️

Remember to let go and relax during your treatment! 💚 When we have a lot on our minds, sometimes it can take a minute to decompress and clear your mind. Take a deep breath and remember that you deserve this time for yourself!

P.S. In many holistic health treatments, you're in a position to rest and digest, and a gurgling stomach simply confirms that you are truly relaxed. A noisy stomach is a normal bodily function and is nothing to be embarrassed about!

One of the reasons I love having my license is because we are required to continue our education to maintain our license in Arkansas. I enjoy learning and would continue to do so whether it was required or not but having the requirement helps to be a part of a field that pushes my colleagues and me to stay up to date and more importantly, to properly care for the individuals that trust us to help them with their care.
In Arkansas, thankfully, this requirement is not being challenged.
Unfortunately, what is being challenged is our baseline understanding and standards. SB 168 is attempting to give the option between a nationwide exam and a state issued exam because some individuals are unable to pass the nationwide exam. The response of some is to lower the standard 😢
I share this information because I believe the individuals who seek massage for therapy should be aware of the possible change. Watch this video for a clearer understanding of why continuing education is important for your care. This will help to understand why lowering the threshold to obtain a massage license should also matter ❤️
