Tonight, we are humbled and honored to share that The Kistler Center was awarded a $21,000 grant from First Presbyterian Church of Fort Smith, AR to put toward our Charitable Care Program.

The Kistler Center's Charitable Care Program allows uninsured and/or underinsured children to receive necessary therapy services regardless of their families' financial circumstances so that they can continue to build skills and independence.

The mission of The Kistler Center is not possible without generous community partnerships such as this one. Thank you, First Presbyterian Church of Fort Smith, AR for believing in The Kistler Center and supporting us in continuing the legacy of providing access to quality care close to home.

The Kistler Center is excited to announce that we have partnered with the Arkansas Colleges of Health Education Physical Therapy students as part of the Go Baby Go program!

The Go Baby Go program is a community initiative that provides modified ride-on cars for young children with mobility challenges, giving them opportunities for independent movement and exploration. Holly and Dominic are two patients at The Kistler Center who receive therapy services and will be participating in the Go Baby Go program. Last night, they and their caregivers met with the two student teams who will be designing their modified ride-on cars.

At Arkansas Colleges of Health Education, second-year Doctor of Physical Therapy students, participate by adapting the vehicles to meet each child’s needs while applying their knowledge of pediatric development and assistive technology. The program provides meaningful hands-on learning for students while helping children gain mobility, independence, and social engagement.

We are grateful for this partnership and excited to see the ride-on cars the students design for Holly and Dominic! 🤍

‼ We need your help! ‼

As we continue to refine our communication strategy we want to know, what do YOU want to see on our social media?

1. Features of Patients and/or Staff: This would look like success stories, "get to know you posts," and therapy and/or waiver highlights.

2. Educational Content: These posts would feature different aspects of our services, discuss resources, and explain therapy techniques and equipment.

3. Donor Impact Showcases: Donor Impact Showcases would highlight what we use our donations for at The Kistler Center. An example might be, "Because of our donors who give $30/month, we were able to provide ______ activity at the Center in February and it benefitted _____ people."

4. Programming/Activities: These posts would be interactive and feature photos/videos from the activity hosted.

Vote below by commenting with the content you want to see most! We are here to serve you and your family and want to make sure that our communications to you on social media reflect that mission. 🙂

Last week, our nurse, Kodie, had a little bit of a mishap and shattered glass all over her office. Justin, a person served, was at the Center when it happened and when he saw that she needed help he jumped right in! Justin turned a slightly chaotic situation into one filled with gratitude and kindness all because he chose to help.

Thank you, Justin, for being so kind and helpful! We are grateful for you!
