Just wanted to share a little about my heart and passion for this work. I’m passionate about women’s health and moms receiving the support they need and deserve. Breastfeeding is a sacrifice every single day and moms deserve to have someone in their corner who has been there and just gets it🫶🏻

I know you see it all over social media. Freezers filled with 100s or 1000s of ounces of milk. Moms buying deep freezers to store all of their frozen milk. And you start questioning your own milk supply. But those reels and posts you see are usually moms with an oversupply or who exclusively pump. A few days worth of milk stored is sufficient and all you need when returning to work. Your body will make exactly what your baby needs and you will pump to replace those feeds while away. Supply will meet the demand. Feed your baby, not the freezer🫶🏻

👶🏻 NEWBORN FAQs: My baby falls asleep often while feeding, feed can take up to an hour and they fall asleep often during this. Should I be concerned?

Maybe, maybe not. There are a lot of factors that go into a successful feed! I highly recommend seeing both a Chiropractor that does craniosacral therapy and pediatric adjustments as well as a licensed lactation consultant (IBCLC). For infants, especially, even subtle restrictions in the jaw, mouth, or neck can impact feeding, making it harder to latch, suck, and swallow effectively. I think you need input from both providers to set you and your baby up for the greatest success. Dr Paige Parker.

Mastitis is the worst! It can come on so suddenly and before you know it, you are experiencing flu like symptoms and feel like it will never end. But the good news is that it can be treated a lot of times without the use of antibiotics! They have a time and place, but generally if we are treating the symptoms appropriately, they should start to improve in 24-48 hours. Here’s what I did and would recommend as a CLC:

1. ICE ICE ICE. In between feedings and during if possible. Ice helps reduce inflammation. Heat is no longer recommended!
2. NSAIDS like ibuprofen to help reduce inflammation
3. Light lymphatic massage-light pressure towards the armpit or collarbone to help with drainage
4. Red light therapy-helps reduce pain and inflammation at the cellular level
5. Feed like normal (not pumping or nursing more than you normally would)

This is my favorite bottle feeding position! It helps with pacing and is easy to navigate. You can take it a step further and use elevated side lying position which can come in handy especially if there are reflux concerns!

Breastfeeding can be complex. And you want someone who you can trust to help navigate it. The best part is that I come to you☺️

When I had my first baby, I struggled to navigate breastfeeding because there was hardly any support outside of the hospital system. I figured it out along the way, but I decided to become a CLC to help other moms so that they didn’t have to struggle or face it all alone. I come to you in the comfort of your own home which is exactly what I wanted when I was in the thick of it. One consult can change your feeding journey for the better. Reach out if you’re ready to schedule🫶🏻

The medela harmony hand pump. Tiny but mighty. This pump is inexpensive, efficient, and so easy to use! It’s great for pumps on the go, pumping when you’re pressed for time, or even pumping at home when you just need to pump here and there. It’s the goat manual pump in my opinion☺️

So you had your baby. And they’re cluster feeding. And the doubt comes creeping in about your milk supply. How do you know that they’re getting what they need? Short answer: Diaper count, weight checks, overall demeanor in between feeds, and how your breasts feel before and after a feeding🤱🏻
