Elvis has left the building! Or has he? Our residents and staff celebrated Elvis week by having a scavenger hunt and looking for all of the hidden Elvis’ throughout our building! We had a great time and the winner of our scavenger hunt was our resident Marilyn!

We visited the Fort Chaffee Barbershop & Military Museum. This was where Elvis Presley was sent to be trained after being drafted into the Army. He received his famous G.I. haircut that many fans protested, even writing letters to the President pleading to not make him cut his hair! The rest of the museum is dedicated to the history of Camp Chaffee and the significance it played with Vietnamese and Cuban refugees.

Our community celebrated the Klondike Gold Rush Ntl Historic Park Day. We learned all about the Alaskan gold rush in the 1890s, played the “Get the Gold” game, and laughed so much, then finished the day with Klondike bars. It was a great day!
