We're honored to partner with the Cherokee Nation, breaking ground on a new 40,000-square-foot cancer center in Fort Smith, Arkansas. This new facility will unite all oncology services in the region under one roof. The $41 million project — boosted by an $8 million contribution from the Cherokee Nation — will bring advanced technology, upgraded and additional linear accelerators, more infusion chairs and expanded oncology staff to improve access and quality of care.

Set to open in spring 2027, the center will provide specialized, compassionate treatment closer to home for patients across the region. Read more: https://bit.ly/40ZolLM

“A simple blanket, a powerful reminder: you are loved.”

Evan Walker, a junior at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville, and Olivia Yoder, senior at Greenwood High School, are the founders of Project Comfort, which recently donated 50 blankets to Oncology patients. Project Comfort was built on the belief that a blanket is so much more than fabric. A blanket is warmth, care and a reminder to every cancer patient that they are not alone in this fight. The goal was simple: collect as many blankets as possible, to provide as much comfort as possible.

“Every single donation, every contribution and every bit of support given to Project Comfort supports a cancer patient. Each donation wraps patients in a sense of compassion, hope and connection,” Walker said.

Thanks to the generosity of everyone involved, Project Comfort has provided immense comfort and care where it’s needed most. Thank you for helping us comfort our Mercy patients! 💙 💙

Mercy joins Arkansas Colleges of Health Education in mourning the loss of these two future doctors. Their families, friends and fellow students are in our thoughts and prayers.

We are heartbroken by the tragic loss of two of our ARCOM students, Hannah Ford and Megan Herrold, both members of the Class of 2026. They were cherished members of our ACHE family, and their absence will be deeply felt across our campus and community.

We extend our deepest condolences to their families, friends, classmates, and all who loved them. In this time of grief, we encourage everyone to take care of themselves and each other.

Counseling services will be available on campus this week to support students, faculty, and staff.

A big "thank you" to the Cedar Hills Elks Lodge #2678 from the team!

The Elks generously presented Mercy Health Foundation Jefferson with a $2,000 donation which will directly support Mercy Birthplace - Jefferson by providing essential equipment, materials and supplies needed to care for infants born with drug dependencies — both during their hospital stay and as they transition home with their families.

Great work by the Elks and everyone who supported their series of community-driven events, including their annual Battle of the Bands, two bike rides, local sponsorships, T-shirt sales and other fundraising activities.

Before she worked in Mercy Pediatrics, Pat Ameis was known for something special — delivering more than just meals.

She brought patients handmade signs with uplifting messages, always paired with a kind word and a smile. Those small moments left a big mark. People still remember the signs they got from Pat during their hardest days.

Now, she brings that same comfort to kids and families in our pediatric unit.

When you support the Mercy Health Foundation, you're helping caregivers like Pat bring hope in ways that go far beyond medicine.
