I love this….
This might be an unpopular opinion coming from a massage therapist..
But if the massage has to hurt to work… your body probably isn’t actually relaxing.
A lot of people think the only way to get relief is through deep tissue that “hurts so good.”
But muscles don’t release best when they’re fighting.
They release when the nervous system finally feels safe enough to let go.
That’s why sometimes the biggest shift doesn’t come from more pressure… it comes from helping the body relax first.
Deep tissue definitely has its place. But relief doesn’t always have to come with pain.
