I (Courtney) will be taking a short break from seeing patients for the next few weeks. I plan to spend this time focusing on my own health and healing (gotta practice what I preach). I will be in the clinic periodically to work on admin duties and to offer support to Dr Sara as she continues to see patient while I’m out.
My schedule is now posted online through the end of June and I plan to get back to seeing patient on May 23. Dr Sara’s schedule is posted online and she will continue to have openings while I’m out.
For those patients who have time sensitive needs within my specialty (things like labor prep and IVF transfers) please feel free to reach out to me directly during this time and we will likely be able to get you in with me on a day that I’m planning to be at the clinic helping out.
I’m hoping to have the bandwidth during this process to share some of the things with you that I’m doing on my own healing journey 💜

Digging into this great new book created to help folks understand acupuncture without having to get a masters degree in it! 📖 So far I’m really liking it and am excited for my patients to read it and come back with questions and a deeper understanding of what we’re doing during their treatments.

Do I treat myself? You bet I do! In the middle of my clinic day & feeling stressed I gave myself a quick ear needle treatment. Disregard all the piercings & focus on the two gold dots. Those are ear needles that I can retain for the rest of the day! Since I was feeling stressed, I chose the points “shenmen” and “liver.”

More appointment availability has just been added to the schedule! Sara’s schedule has filled up so quickly that we have decided to add another day at the clinic for her each week. She will begin seeing patients on Fridays (in addition to her already established Tuesdays) starting next Friday, Jan 26th.

Introducing the newest addition to Tierra Luna Acupuncture, Dr. Sara Combs, L.Ac. 🌟. Sara was raised in a small town in Ohio & always had a deep desire to help others. Before becoming an acupuncturist, she was involved in fair trade helping women artisans from Nepal to make a fair wage. She found acupuncture and herbal medicine through her personal journey and realized that she wanted to help others with this medicine. She went to school for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Dragon Rises College in Gainesville, Florida where she obtained her Bachelors of Health Science, and Masters in Oriental medicine in 2018. There she trained in acupuncture,herbal medicine, nutrition, and a unique diagnostic style of Shen Hammer pulse which allows her as a practitioner to treat the symptoms a person is suffering from as well as the root of the problem. She also learned and practice the ancient art of Tai Chi. She received her Doctorate from Pacific College of Oriental Medicine with an emphasis on integrating Western and Eastern medicine in 2020. She also received additional certifications in facial acupuncture and microneedling. She owned and operated an acupuncture clinic where she was voted Best Acupuncturist in her town 2 years in a row. Recent life events brought her back to the area, and she is excited to share this medicine with those in the area where her roots are. We are SO excited to have Sara on the team. She is seeing patients at the clinic on Tuesdays & you can schedule with her through the link in bio or by sending a DM. 💜

WE’RE GROWING! 🌱I am SO excited to announce that Tierra Luna Acupuncture is welcoming Dr. Sara Combs to our team. She will be offering acupuncture, cupping, & cosmetic acupuncture treatments in true TCM style. With Sara joining the team, we will be able to offer more appointment availability and a wider range of services to our valued patients. People ask all the time what I use the exercise ball for in the clinic and they’re usually surprised to find out that I use it for labor prep treatments in final weeks of pregnancy. Acupuncture in the last month & especially weeks of pregnancy can help to facilitate a smoother, faster, & less painful labor experience. There’s a good amount of research behind these claims and I’ve seen the results firsthand with my patients time and time again.

When working on labor prep close to the due date, I’ll often have the pregnant mama sit on the exercise ball during the acupuncture treatment and make small figure 8 movements. This helps to amplify the work of the needles, gently encouraging the hips to open and pelvic muscles to relax and soften. This positioning also supports the hormone cascade necessary for spontaneous labor.

I had such a wonderful time with at our Acupuncture + reiki + yoga event yesterday! I love doing events like this because it’s an opportunity for me to share acupuncture with a larger group. It gives people who haven’t ever tried acupuncture a little sample of what it can be like and it’s a great opportunity for folks who already get acupuncture to get a little “tune up” in. Combining the mini acupuncture treatments with reiki and restorative yoga is a suuuuper relaxing and potent combination. Thank you to all the participants that came out yesterday and to for hosting us 💜💜💜.

Hi 👋🏽 I miss you all! It’s been a good long while since I’ve posted to social media. With the clinic expanding and life with a toddler, my days (and nights) have been quite full.
