Hey friends! It’s been a while so I wanted to do an introduction post 🤗 I am Dr. Daya and this is my husband David. (My name was Taelor Viviano but since getting married I’m changing my first and last to Daya Simms!) I grew up in NY with a big, wonderful family. I went to Keystone College in Pennsylvania for my Bachelor’s in biology with a minor in chemistry. After that I moved to South Carolina where I attended Sherman College of Chiropractic for my doctorate. During chiropractic school, I spent my nights and weekends in seminars, mastering my adjusting techniques. The last year of chiropractic school I was an adjunct professor at Spartanburg Methodist College where I taught labs in chemistry, meteorology, and physics. After graduating and finishing my last semester teaching, I moved to the beautiful Emerald Coast in 2019 and I’ve never looked back! I was introduced to David in January 2025 and we got married May 15th, 2025. He was working at the Marina Cafe in Destin and now he works as the facilities manager at Destiny Worship Center in Fort Walton Beach, which we love! In our free time, we are often found at church, leading and attending different small groups. The joy of our life is serving and walking with the Lord! I love to crochet and craft and David can often be found cooking, at the shooting range or sitting in the lobby talking with my patients like a counselor 🤣 We like playing board games like mancala and scrabble and love spending time with our doggies and taking them for walks.
On the left, by me, is our sweet baby Sid! I brought Sid home from the Greenville Humane Society on May 10th, 2016 and he’s been my best friend since that day. He is so sweet and chill (unless it is storming, then he’s panicking.) His love language is touch, he can never get enough pets, and he’s never met a hand that he didn’t want to pet him. He likes short walks and loves swimming and any form of water!
On the right, in front of David, is our newest baby Benny! We brought Benny home on October 4th, 2025 and he immediately became part of our pack. His love language is quality time and FOOD! He was saved by Road Dogg Rescue, from a kill shelter in Georgia and is learning to love being pet after initially being a bit skittish whenever someone would go near his head. Benny loves going to the dog park. If he gets out of the office door without a leash, he will sprint to the Liza Jackson dog park, very much unlike his big brother Sid who will just go potty and head right back inside. Benny loves other doggies, the smaller the better, also different than Sid, who prefers to be the only dog in the room (or on earth.) Benny is a mama’s boy, but Sid is an ~ anyone who will give him attention ~ boy. During the work day, Benny mostly hangs out with his mom in the adjusting room, while Sid excitedly greets patients or expects patients to greet him while he lays on the couch or rug.
We are so grateful for our beautiful community and the support we receive from yall! If you have any questions, feel free to ask 🤗
