Did you know?

Funeral rituals date back over 60,000 years, with early humans placing flowers and tools beside their loved ones as symbols of care and respect. This ancient act shows that remembrance has always been a part of the human heart.

From the earliest ceremonies to today’s personalized services, honoring life has always meant one thing — love that endures.

“A Life Remembered”

🌸 Every life leaves a lasting impression — a story that continues through those who loved them.

Today, we honor the beautiful legacies built on laughter, kindness, and love. Their presence may be gone from sight, but their spirit remains woven into every memory we hold dear.

Take a quiet moment today to remember someone who left your heart a little fuller.

COMING SOON:
Our next Cleanest City on the Emerald Coast volunteer initiative is scheduled for next weekend (Nov. 15-16).

We’re looking for City of Fort Walton Beach residents who are having difficulty maintaining their yards and who could use some extra help. If that sounds like you or someone you know, and they’re located within the city limits, please contact us.

We’re also looking for volunteers who’d like to help their fellow residents by mowing lawns, trimming bushes, and performing other needed yard work. We cannot use city equipment or resources for this event, so we’re looking for volunteers who can show up with their own tools ready to do the work.

Landscaping businesses looking to partner with us are always a plus!

If you are or know a city resident that needs help with their yard, or you would like to volunteer, please email City of Fort Walton Beach Public Information Officer Devon Ravine at: dravine@fwb.org

On Remembrance Day, we pause to reflect on those who made the ultimate sacrifice serving their country, and honour their memory. We also pay tribute to those who continue to serve their communities today.

We will remember them. Lest we forget.
