Today is a great reminder that caring for our pets also means caring for the world they live in. From cleaner parks to safer wildlife, every small step makes a big difference, for our furry friends and beyond. 🐾

Here are a few easy ways you can celebrate Earth Day with your pet:
🌱 Pick up litter on your daily walks
🌱 Use eco-friendly pet products
🌱 Keep pets from disturbing local wildlife
🌱 Stay up to date on preventatives to protect your pet AND the environment

Together, we can help keep tails wagging and our planet thriving. 🌍✨

April is the perfect time to protect your pets from heartworm disease—a serious and potentially fatal condition that affects both dogs 🐶 and cats 🐱.

Heartworms are spread by mosquitoes, and just one bite can put your pet at risk. The scary part? Many pets don’t show signs until the disease is already advanced.

💡 The good news: Heartworm disease is easy to prevent with monthly preventatives!

✔️ Safe
✔️ Affordable
✔️ Much easier than treatment

At Northside Veterinary Clinic, we’re here to help you choose the best prevention plan for your furry family members.

📅 Not sure if your pet is up to date? Give us a call—we’re happy to help!

Let’s keep those tails wagging and hearts healthy all year long 🐾❤️

Ever wonder what we’re looking for when we check your pet’s ears under the microscope? 👀🐶

These little guys are rod-shaped bacteria — and when we see these on an ear cytology, it usually means there’s more than just a simple ear infection going on. Rod bacteria are often associated with more stubborn infections that can cause redness, odor, discharge, and discomfort for your pup.

The good news? Identifying the type of bacteria helps us choose the most effective treatment, so your dog can get relief faster! 🙌

If your dog is shaking their head, scratching their ears, or you notice a funky smell… don’t wait. Ear infections can escalate quickly, but they’re very treatable when caught early.

Healthy ears = happy dogs 🐾💙

Have you ever seen an abscessed tooth?

This kitty came in for her annual examination & vaccines. While conducting her exam, Dr. Mandy found an abscessed K9 tooth.

Cats are pros at masking pain, and dental disease often goes unnoticed without dental X-rays. Routine dentistry and full-mouth radiographs help us catch painful problems early and keep our furry friends comfortable, healthy, and eating happily.
