A few tips to get you through the holidays:
• Watch the treats: Chocolate, xylitol, fatty foods, and bones can be dangerous for pets. Keep holiday snacks out of reach.
• Secure decorations: Tinsel, ornaments, ribbon, and lights can cause choking or intestinal blockages if swallowed.
• Mind the tree: Anchor Christmas trees securely and avoid putting presents or edible decorations at pet level.
• Plant caution: Poinsettias, mistletoe, and lilies can be toxic—especially to cats.
• Quiet space: Holiday guests and noise can be stressful. Give pets a calm, safe place to retreat.
• Keep doors closed: Guests coming and going increase the risk of pets escaping—ID tags and microchips are a must!
• Stick to routine: Try to keep feeding, walks, and medications on schedule during the busy season.
🎅🐾 If your pet gets into something they shouldn’t, don’t wait—contact your vet right away or the Emergency Veterinary Clinic!
