People often say they’re “triggered” when they’re annoyed or upset. But in mental health, the word means something very different.

Being triggered is a trauma response. It happens when something reminds someone of a painful or scary event from their past, and can cause strong emotional or physical reactions.

Let’s be more mindful about how we use it, and let’s create space for people to be honest about what they’re going through.

At Restoration & Wellness, we provide trauma-informed care for teens, adults, families, and couples.

We’ve all heard someone casually say, “I’m so OCD!”because they like their desk organized or their closet color-coded. But Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder (OCD) is far more complex-and far more serious- than a preference for neatness. At Restoration & Wellness, we believe that clarity, compassion, and proper education are essential for both recognizing and treating OCD.

Please reach out to us if you are experiencing obsessions and compulsions that are time-consuming, distressing, and severely interfering with daily life.

You are not alone. We are here to help.
