🌿 Finding Your Therapist Match Matters 🧠💬

Therapy isn’t one-size-fits-all — and that’s okay.

Whether you're seeking support for anxiety, grief, trauma, or simply navigating life’s changes, the connection you have with your therapist plays a huge role in your healing journey. 🛤️

✨ When it clicks, therapy can feel empowering, safe, and transformative.

🧩 If it doesn't click right away — that’s normal too. Keep searching. The right fit is out there.

At Ellie Mental Health - Fort Washington, we’re here to help you find your match — someone who gets you, listens without judgment, and supports your growth every step of the way. 💙🐘

We are so excited to announce that Victoria Haigh is launching a new dance/movement therapy group called Morning of Mindful Movement (M.M.M.)!

M.M.M. explores the integration of mind, body, and spirit to support holistic healing. As the facilitator, she draws upon her knowledge and expertise as a Registered Dance/Movement Therapist (R-DMT) and Licensed Associate Professional Counselor (LAPC)--combining her knowledge of clinical theory, dance/movement therapy, and years of research in traditional and non-Eurocentric movement-based healing practices.

Please share this new offering with anyone that may be looking for a space to be in community, strengthen their sense of self, and start their Wednesday morning with movement! 💙🐘

Ever zoned out during a meeting, driven somewhere and not remembered how you got there, or felt totally disconnected in a stressful moment?

These aren’t just quirks.... they can be signs of dissociation, a powerful and often misunderstood coping mechanism.

In therapy spaces, we talk about dissociation often. But outside of them, people may not recognize it or know what to do when it shows up. For folks with trauma histories, dissociation isn’t just occasional spacing out—it’s the nervous system protecting itself when things feel too overwhelming to process.

➡️ In this new blog post, Ellie therapist Miranda Barker, LICSW, breaks down:
- What dissociation actually is (and isn’t)
- Why the body uses it as a survival response
- How trauma-informed approaches like EMDR, parts work, and somatic therapy can help
- Practical grounding strategies that reconnect people to the present

Whether you're a clinician, a mental health advocate, or someone who’s felt disconnected and didn’t have a word for it—this is worth the read.

🌿 Your Mental Health Matters 🌿

Self-care isn’t selfish — it’s essential. Taking time to rest, recharge, and check in with yourself isn’t a luxury; it’s a foundation for your well-being.

🧠 Whether it’s getting enough sleep, setting boundaries, practicing mindfulness, or simply saying “no” when you need to — these small choices protect and preserve your mental and physical health.

At Ellie Mental Health - Fort Washington, we believe that prioritizing your well-being helps you show up more fully for yourself and others.

💙 Today, ask yourself: What do I need to feel okay? Then, give yourself permission to meet that need. 🐘

🌿 Live Authentically, Live Fully 🌿

At Ellie Mental Health - Fort Washington, we believe that mental wellness begins with being true to yourself.

Living authentically means embracing who you are — your values, your voice, your story — even when it feels uncomfortable. It’s not about perfection; it’s about honesty, courage, and self-compassion.

💬 Ask yourself:
• What truly matters to me?
• Am I living in alignment with my values?
• Where am I hiding or holding back?

When we stop performing for others and start honoring our own truth, healing begins.

🧠 Need support on this journey? Our team is here to walk with you — no judgment, just care.
