(danana! *snap snap*)

Ok, not THAT Addams family, but we are indeed a family. We all found The Egoscue Method in our own ways, and truly in our own time. When I say, we all wish we had found it sooner in life, it is NO exaggeration. The Method has been a saving grace in our family, giving us better quality of life, and the knowledge of trusting our bodies and what they ask of us. "Pain is not something to be feared, but something to be understood." ~Pete Egoscue

We have never felt something truer than this! We are forever grateful for this Method, and we are beyond excited to bring it to our community, to give them the lives they've always hoped for!

At puberty the muscles and their intended functions may have a difficult time keeping up with the burgeoning skeletal structure.
This is particularly true when the young person changes their established patterns of behavior.

It is with a heavy heart we share the sudden passing of Egoscue's Joan Adams.

Joan passed away on December 28, due to complications from pneumonia. She was surrounded by her family.

Joan will be remembered as a vibrant soul whose spirit touched the hearts of all fortunate enough to know her. As a clinic owner, Joan's passion and dedication left an indelible mark on our Egoscue family.

She was more than just an owner; Joan was a guiding light, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and friend, cherished by many. Her warmth and kindness knew no bounds, leaving behind a legacy of love and inspiration.

Joan's absence has created an irreplaceable void, but her memory will forever shine brightly within our hearts.

Please bear with us as we navigate this loss together and work to honor Joan's legacy by upholding the spirit and values she instilled within our Philly Clinic.

Lack of oxygen is not always associated with a headache, but it's one that you should think about.
When the spine is C-shaped, with the shoulders rolled forward, the chest cavity is constricted and the amount of oxygen the diaphragm can pull in with each breath is reduced. This can be EASILY fixed with exercises that will restore the spine's natural S-curve.

Our Story

Joan Adams (Clinc Co-Owner) As a young mother I loved to exercise. It served as my "me" time and helped me feel whole and healthy so that I could take care of my family the best way possible. When I reached my early 30’s the normal everyday aches and pains seemed to increase tremendously even though my workouts felt really good. I assumed my form during exercise was not quite right and figured that if I learned more then I could “fix” what I felt happening. So I decided to go to school and learn what I could about exercise and its effect on the body. It was great! I loved learning the science and taking the activities classes BUT as time moved on my pain levels continuously increased. I carried on my search, learning different exercise methods in an attempt to figure out a way to get myself out of pain while still exercising but was disappointed every time. Then in my late 40’s I was given the Pain Free book by Pete Egoscue and I knew from the moment I read the disclaimer that this experience was going to be different than any other thing I had encountered! I loved Pete’s belief and still do that “health care starts with personal responsibility” and that “any disclaimer suggesting otherwise does a great disservice.” I learned everything I could about the Method and opened the Philadelphia clinic in the fall of 2014. I am consistently awed by the power of the human body and its ability to correct itself if given the right opportunity.

My long road to Egoscue…

I learned early on in life “if you don’t want to work, then you truly must love what you do”. That has followed me through 3 small businesses, and I learned along the way, then what you’re not happy any longer it’s time to move on.
