**Hyperkyphosis** commonly known as hunch back is an exaggeration of the “normal” posterior kyphosis curvature of the thoracic spine.(mid-upper back)
Often caused by disease or injury and weakness hyperkyphosis affects 20-40% of older adults traditionally.
Due to over use of cellphones, video games and poor desk posture this trend is increasing in younger generations like Gen Z(16-26)

In its early stages it starts as “text neck” however prolonged overuse and lack of correct postural behavior/ strength training hyperkyphosis can become a problem for many as they age.

Yet another condition that can be prevented with proper and regular use of massage therapy.

Research has shown that massage therapy to lengthen the pecs and anterior neck musculature coupled with strengthening back extensor muscles to be an effective therapy to reducing Hyperkyphosis.

If you are noticing your posture change it’s time to stop it in its tracks with proper care!
Remember this “an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure”

In celebration of nurses week and to show my appreciation I am offering nurses. $50 intro massage for the entire MONTH of May!! 🎉 🎊 🎈

Here are 3 reasons why nurses should add massage therapy to their health care regimen!

💆🏼‍♀️ 💆‍♂️ 👨‍⚕️ 👩‍⚕️

1: Stress Reduction- 🧖‍♀️ 🧖‍♂️
Nurses are exposed to high levels of stress in their work environment, leading to chronic stress, which can have deleterious effects on their mental and physical health. Studies have shown that massage therapy is an effective intervention for reducing stress and anxiety levels.

Massage therapy works by stimulating the parasympathetic nervous system, causing relaxation and reducing the levels of stress hormones such as cortisol in the body. The relaxation response is proven to enhance emotional well-being and decrease symptoms of anxiety, depression, and burnout.

2: Pain Relief 😮‍💨 😮‍💨
Nurses often experience physical pain, such as back, neck, and shoulder pain, due to prolonged standing, lifting, and repetitive movements in their work. Massage therapy can provide pain relief by releasing muscle tension, reducing inflammation, and improving blood circulation.

3: Improved Sleep Quality 😴
Nurses often work shifts, leading to disruptive sleep patterns, which causes fatigue and decreased cognitive function.
Studies have indicated that massage therapy can improve sleep quality, leading to improved cognitive function, better job performance, and reduced absenteeism among nurses.
