Honoring Our Veterans
Today, we gathered for our We Honor Veterans ceremony to recognize the courage, sacrifice, and service of the veterans in our community.
From the solemn folding of the flag and 21-gun salute to music, prayer, pinning ceremony and fellowship, it was a powerful reminder that we are forever grateful to those who have served our nation.
We extend our heartfelt thank you to those who helped make today possible:
American Legion Post #47 Honor Guard
and our generous sponsors:
Casa Ristoranti, Zianos, Sage Bluff, Lutheran Life Villages – Pine Valley Assisted Living, Grey Stone, Honor Flight, Cornerstone Caregiving, and Walmart.
Your support ensures that veterans receive the dignity, recognition, and comfort they deserve.
To all who have served — we honor you, today and always.

A century of commitment

The seeds of Visiting Nurse were planted in 1888, when women of the growing city of Fort Wayne, Indiana, banded together to deliver food and medicine to the “sick poor.” On March 1, 1900, Visiting Nurse was incorporated and hired its first paid nurse. Visiting Nurse’s mission is to provide compassionate care to alleviate suffering and ensure quality of life for those affected by serious illness through our hospice and palliative care services. Visiting Nurse cares for those who go on living, with grief support services available at no charge for any adult who has experienced the loss of a loved one. Hospice involvement is not required. We serve these Indiana counties: Adams, Allen, DeKalb, Huntington, Noble, Wabash, Wells and Whitley.
