This week, FINDER salutes the extraordinary assistance dogs who make independence, safety, and comfort possible for so many individuals in our community and beyond. 💙🐶

These four-legged heroes are specially trained to support people in powerful ways:

🔹 Guide Dogs – Help those who are blind navigate the world
🔹 Hearing Dogs – Alert to vital sounds like alarms and doorbells
🔹 Mobility Dogs – Assist with balance, doors, and everyday tasks
🔹 Medical Alert Dogs – Detect seizures, low/high blood sugar, and more
🔹 Emotional Support Dogs – Provide calm and comfort for anxiety, PTSD, and other conditions

Established in 2017 through an initiative funded by AWS Foundation, FINDER gives people with disabilities 24/7 access to a comprehensive range of community resources designed to improve their quality of life.

Service providers, community advocates and medical professionals regularly contribute to FINDER, keeping the information current, relevant and practical. Participation is voluntary, and new information is added regularly. If you notice a resource that benefits the disability community is missing from the site, please contact us. With your help, FINDER will continue to grow and improve.

FINDER supports the right for people of all abilities to freely choose how they wish to live their lives to the fullest. It does not rate or endorse programs, services or organizations. It is up to each individual to decide if a resource fits their unique needs.
