The student of the week is Zak Klopfenstein! Zak is a first-year student from Auburn, IN. He attended Defiance College for undergrad and majored in exercise science. In his free time, Zak likes to play soccer, listen to music, work out, and go camping. His favorite part of PT school is applying skills learned in class to his experience at CARE. After graduation, he would like to work in an outpatient setting or travel PT! Keep up the great work, Zak!

The student of the week for this week is Samantha Carlin! Sam is from Celina, OH, and went to Trine University for undergrad. Sam enjoys playing volleyball, boating, being outdoors, and spending time with her family and friends. Sam is also the vice president for the class of 2027. Sam's favorite thing about PT school so far is the people she has met and feeling like a physical therapist. Sam is interested in being either a neuro PT or a pediatric PT. We had Julia Vizcaya, OTR and Kendra Tyler, SLP come in to share about their education, certifications, and experience in lab. Then we had a cute little friend come in to help us demonstrate how we co treat and had the students listen to the dialogue between providers and parents. We spoke about evaluating and treating options while this fun little guy ran around and was the perfect example.

The student of the week for this week is Melanie Milliron! Melanie is a second-year student from Petersburg, Illinois and went to the University of Illinois at Springfield for undergrad. Melanie is the President of the class of 2026 and enjoys shopping and being creative. Melanie's favorite thing about PT school so far has been all of the hands-on learning opportunities. Melanie is a bit unsure of what kind of PT she would like to be but is currently interested in neuro and geriatrics. Thank you for all of your hard work Melanie!

The student of the week for this week is Alexa Porter! Alexa is a 2nd-year student from Goshen, Indiana, and is the vice president of the class of 2026. Alexa went to Trine for undergrad and enjoys weightlifting and skiing. Alexa's favorite thing about PT school is building new relationships and gaining clinical experience in CARE.
