“Two wrongs don’t make a right.”

But when we’re hurt, getting even can feel almost automatic.

In Episode 5 of Unfinished Thoughts, we explore why retaliation feels so natural — and how it often keeps us stuck in cycles of conflict rather than moving toward resolution.

This episode looks at resentment, boundaries, and the deeper question: Who do we want to become when we’ve been wronged?

Rebuilding trust doesn’t happen through one conversation — it’s built through consistent patterns over time.

Both couples counseling and individual counseling can support that process in different ways.

Couples counseling helps partners understand patterns, improve communication, and practice repair together.

Individual counseling creates space to explore personal patterns, emotional responses, and the internal experiences that show up in relationships.

In many cases, both can be helpful. If you’re unsure where to start, we can help guide that process: https://baymentalhealth.com/

EMDR is often misunderstood.

Many people feel hesitant because they’re unsure what the process involves — or worry it will be overwhelming.

In reality, EMDR is designed to help your brain safely process experiences so they no longer feel present in your body.

If you’ve been curious about EMDR, there’s space to explore it safely. Learn more about trauma-informed therapy by clicking here: https://baymentalhealth.com/counseling-for-trauma

Stress has a way of making everything feel urgent and overwhelming.

But your nervous system doesn’t need a total life overhaul—it needs small moments of relief.

Simple things can help your body settle and reset.

It doesn’t have to be all or nothing.
Small shifts still count.
You don’t have to do all four—just choose one

April is National Stress Awareness Month—and most of us don’t need more pressure to “fix” our stress… we need permission to approach it differently.

Stress often shows up when our mind and body are overwhelmed, stretched too thin, or trying to keep up with expectations that aren’t sustainable.

A fresh start doesn’t mean waking up tomorrow with a perfect routine.
It might look like:
• Taking a real break without guilt
• Saying no to one thing
• Noticing what your body is trying to tell you

Small shifts create real change over time.

You don’t have to do everything differently—just start somewhere. Comment ‘RESET’ if you’re choosing a slower, steadier pace this month.
