In lieu of the Full Moon this is a Shadow and Inner Child Healing post. To begin, the full moon is great energy for releasing anything blocking you from acting or being as your highest self. In opposition a New Moon is great energy for manifesting New Beginnings.
❤️🩹What is the Shadow?... The shadow is the subconscious, usually self sabotaging, beliefs, ideals, thoughts, feelings, and even social learned norms of behavior resulting in actions and illness that are not in your best interest.
❤️🩹How to identify the Shadow?... Simply pay attention to what triggers a pain response. Know that pain can look and feel like irritability, sadness, disgust, FEAR, anger, angst, overwhelming concern, intrusive thoughts, avoidance, isolation, projection and so on.
❤️🩹How to address the Shadow?... Pause, Breathe, Feel, and reflect. Ask yourself the following questions:
*When I feel like this and try to remember the first time I've ever felt like this, What does that scene look like for me?
*Who was there? *How old was I? *What other feelings do I have in this memory?
❤❤Take a moment to sit with your inner child. Sit there and tell them that it's ok. Tell them that you're grown into a beautiful person who will love every piece of them and protect them. Give them a huge hug until you feel the pain release and peace overcome. Congratulations! You've just addressed your shadow, possibly for the first time ever, and I am so proud of you!!!
❤️🩹Identify the origin of the Shadow... You've now comforted and released pain of the Shadow. Now we identify key thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and actions relating to the trigger. *This is to not only have the Body and Soul aligned, but the mind as well. Reflect on key instances where you've reacted upon your trigger, possibly caused harm or illwill, and allow yourself to comfort, love and protect that version of you as well.
*It is important to identify the origin of feelings, because sometimes, actually often, they are not yours. *The thoughts, beliefs, actions, and feelings are typically learned behavior. Take time to sit with the idea of this. Take time to ask yourself *Who you learned this from? *When, how old were you, when you learned this? *Was there something significant going on in that person's life that may require you to hold space for empathy and forgiveness? Love and Compassion?
❤️🩹Lastly loving your Shadow... Yes, you've loved yourself and released pain, identified the source of ideals, and possibly forgiven them, but you mustn't forget to Love your Shadow. *Your shadow serves a purpose for you to develop traits, character, and strength. You may have acted out of the character you'd like to embody, yet those are minor inaccuracies. *Love the qualities you've accumulated on your own from the Shadow. Are you strong? Are you resilient? Are you compassionate? Are you bold? Are you observant? Are you intelligent? Are you kind?
*What characteristics have you not favored so well? Remember you learned these, probably from someone who also learned them, or developed them on your own with little guidance as a defense mechanism. It is vital that you practice acceptance of yourself in this process of change. Healing or change does not mean you are not already whole. It means you are learning to redirect your energy where it best serves you. Be kind, patient, and accepting of yourself every step of the process. You are Amazing right now!!
💜💜Now you are set to develop from a stance of Love for yourself and others. You may develop any sense of character you wish. What are your character goals? Would you like to act in love? In kindness? In assertiveness? In enthusiasm? What are your inner most desires of being? Sit with yourself a little while any time you would like to develop your character. You are ever evolving and not only allowed, but destined to do so.
