Winter in Indiana can feel pretty heavy. It's not just the snow, but the mental and emotional weight that comes with shorter days. If you’re feeling the "winter blues" or seasonal depression, please hear us: you aren't weak, and you definitely aren't alone.

Sometimes it’s not that you’re “off” — your serotonin levels might just be low, especially during seasonal shifts.

Seasonal depression can sneak in quietly. Less sunlight, slower days and more isolation. All of this impacts your brain chemistry and your spirit.

❄️ Gentle winter reminders:

• Stay connected with the people that love you
• Keep a simple routine, even on hard days
• Spend a few quiet moments with God each day, even if it’s just a breath prayer
• Ask for help when you need it — support is a strength, not a failure

If this season feels overwhelming, Hope Alive is here to walk with you toward hope and healing.

Sometimes waiting can feel heavy — especially when you’re carrying grief, stress, or uncertainty.

We love this reminder: “If God is making you wait, do what Jesus did and serve.”

At Hope Alive, we see this lived out every day. In seasons when healing feels slow or answers aren’t clear, choosing connection, compassion, and service can keep hope alive for others and for ourselves. Small acts of kindness, listening without judgment, showing up when it’s hard… those moments matter more than we realize.

If you’re in a waiting season right now, know this: you’re not alone, and your presence matters. You are a person of incredible worth!

A new year brings new hope and God’s grace meets us in every place we’re starting from.
Whether you’re feeling hopeful, tired, or somewhere in between, you are not alone.

At Hope Alive, we believe mental health matters, healing is possible, and hope grows even through small steps. Jesus offers peace for anxious hearts, rest for weary minds, and strength for each day ahead.

This year doesn’t have to be perfect to be meaningful. God is still at work, His mercies are new each morning, and brighter days are ahead.🌄

“Because of the Lord’s great love we are not consumed, for His mercies never fail. They are new every morning.” — Lamentations 3:22–23

As we step into this new year, may your heart find rest, your mind find peace, and your spirits be renewed. 🦋 🙌

God, as we begin this new week, we pause before we speak or respond. Before we communicate outwardly, help us to listen inwardly to the leading of Your Holy Spirit. Quiet our minds and steady our hearts so we can hear Your guidance with clarity and trust.

Grant us wisdom in our words and discernment in our actions. Remind us that communication is not just a task to complete, but an act of ministry. Every message, conversation, and interaction is an opportunity to reflect Your love, extend hope, and offer encouragement to those who may be hurting.

May what we share be rooted in prayer and shaped by grace. Lead us away from reacting quickly and toward responding faithfully. Use our voices, our presence, and even our pauses to point others toward hope, healing, and truth. We offer this day and this week to You, trusting You to lead us in all that we do. Amen.

What a beautiful night of joy, generosity, and hope ✨🦋

This week we gathered as a Hope Alive family to celebrate our annual Christmas party for our residents. Because of the incredible kindness of anonymous donors, each resident was blessed with gifts given purely out of love. The generosity of these donors are powerful reminder of God’s provision and care.

Moments like these reflect the heart of Christmas: “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift.” (2 Corinthians 9:15)

We are so grateful for every person who prayed, gave, served, and helped make this night so special.

At Hope Alive, we believe every life matters, every story has value, and no one is forgotten—especially during this season of hope. Merry Christmas from all of us! ❤️🎄

Sometimes the breakthrough is in how you respond. 🙏🏽

The enemy knows your old patterns. He knows what pushes your buttons, what stresses you out, what usually sends you spiraling. And he’ll keep sending the same situations your way, hoping you’ll react the same way every time.

When you choose to pause, pray, and respond differently, everything shifts. The enemy gets confused because he was prepared for who you used to be and not who God is healing and restoring right now.

Ask God to change your heart. He’ll remove the desire to react the old way and give you strength to walk in freedom. Do something different. Choose faith. Choose growth.

Let God fight the battle. 🙌🙏

As Christmas approaches, Hope Alive is once again launching our Tree of Hope: an opportunity for our community to bless the incredible women who are rebuilding their lives with courage and faith. Each item on our list represents a personal gift request from one of our residents.

If you’d like to share Christ’s love in a tangible way this season, we invite you to adopt a resident through the link below. After choosing a gift, simply return it wrapped to Hope Alive by December 15th.

Every donation, no matter the size, becomes a heartfelt reminder that these women are surrounded by compassion and support. Thank you for helping us spread hope this Christmas.🎄 🎁 🙏

We had the sweetest surprise this week at Hope Alive! 🤱

One of our past residents, Hannah, stopped by with her beautiful little baby girl, Luna, to drop off a donation for our christmas program that we do for our residents every year.

While they were here, Hannah added her handprint to our Wall of Hope : a reminder of the courage, growth, and incredible worth each woman carries with her long after she moves forward into the next chapter of her life. ❤️

Moments like this remind us of God’s faithfulness and the beautiful community He’s built through Hope Alive. We are so grateful for Hannah, for Luna, and for every woman who has been part of this family 🥰🫂🙏

Today we celebrated three of our incredible interns!!

Paul, Adra, and Windy who have poured so much heart into their time with us at Hope Alive. Windy earned her MA in Mental Health Counseling from Huntington University, Adra completed her MSW from IU, and Paul graduated with his master’s in Marriage and Family Therapy from Indiana Wesleyan University. We’ve loved watching them grow, support our residents, and bring so much warmth and compassion to our team. 🥰

We are excited to see them step into the next season God has prepared for them 🙏
