Had the privilege of studying with this past week in Minneapolis. This is holistic abdominal therapy focused on women’s health. I think it will blend very nicely with the lymphatic work I currently do. This is a combination of Maya Abdominal Fertility massage, Chi Nei Tsang ( Chinese intestinal massage) and visceral manipulation. This is external therapy that may help with the following.
Digestive complaints
Menstrual issues
C- section scar tissue
Fertility challenges
Abdominal scar tissue.

Do you like broad, deep pressure? Barefoot massage is a great option if you enjoy broad, deep pressure without feeling like you have been hit by a bus after a massage.
By using a broad surface such as feet, allows the body to relax and enter rest and digest.
If you are sore, tight or plain stressed out, barefoot massage is a great option.

Alrighty. So here’s a little something on lymphatic drainage and who it benefits.
✅General Wellness- For those wanting extra support for overall wellness and immune support.
✅Autoimmune- For those struggling with autoimmune disease. Rheumatoid arthritis, fibromyalgia, Hashimoto’s, MS, Lupus etc.

Is lymphatic drainage helpful for pregnancy edema (swelling)? Is lymphatic drainage safe for pregnant women? 🤰🤱👩‍🍼
A study done at the Obstetrics Outpatient Clinic of the Medical School of Santa Casa in São Paulo* shows that lymphatic drainage did help reduce swelling in the legs of pregnant women. Compression stockings are often used to reduce swelling in pregnancy but not all women can tolerate them.
During pregnancy many changes happen in the body. Hormonal changes can cause changes in the vascular system thus causing swelling, varicose veins and feelings of heaviness.
The lymphatic system is responsible for fluid management. Lymphatic drainage is a gentle technique that uses a skin sketching stroke to move fluid to the lymph nodes. The body processes the fluid and urinates out the excess.

Lymphatic drainage is helpful for:
swelling of the legs during pregnancy
Breast pain or mastitis or clogged duct
After C-Section
And more
Lymphatic drainage before, during or after pregnancy is not the same as a prenatal massage. No side-lying or face down on that comfy pregnancy pillow. Think reclining on the recliner. This allows the therapist to work all the areas where the important nodes are located. Lymphatic drainage is generally a safe and effective way to manage swelling.
As with anything while pregnant, always talk to your doctor or Midwife to make sure it’s a good fit for you!
*Please note we are trained in the Vodder method. Vodder is a gentle, medically focused technique. It’s very gentle and effective for swelling management.

What is fascia and what is all the hype about?!?
You probably have heard the term fascia before and it seems to be a hype word right now in the wellness world. So let’s break it down and how massage affects the fascia.
Ever had a tight, achy spot say on your shoulder and there wasn’t a knot but something felt off? That’s fascia. Fascia is connective tissue that when it gets dried out it can cause pain and loss of range of motion. Barefoot massage helps to increase movement between the fascia by using techniques that increase hyaluronic acid between the layers. Studies have shown that fascia responses better to techniques that are a designed to create movement in the fascia( think Barefoot massage) then brute force, ie an elbow. Barefoot massage is a great option to help with fascia pain while working deeply without pain.
